But, there are a few jodis who definitely took their relationship to the next level. They tied the knot after the show and vowed to spend the rest of their lives together. So, let us have a look at these twelve Nach Baliye jodis who walked down the aisle with a promise to love each other forever.
The love story of Kashmera Shah and Krushna Abhishek is different from the usual. Their love story started in 2006 while shooting for the film, Pappu Pass Ho Gaya. They fell for each other after a “one-night stand”. Krushna says:
“Actually that is how it happens with everyone… it is just that they do not admit. After that night, she got a lot more caring towards me… bringing me khaana and all.”
It was in Nach Baliye 6, where Krushna popped the question to his live-in partner. But, as expected, their wedding was not a gala affair. The couple apparently tied the knot secretly on July 24, 2013, in Las Vegas, with just a few friends around. It was only after two years that the couple decided to announce their wedding to the media.
The runners-up of Nach Baliye 5, Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta, first met on the sets of Zee TV’s show, 12/24 Karol Bagh. Their journey started with friendship, which later blossomed into love. And surprisingly, no one said those three magical words first. It was just a realisation that brought the couple together. Sargun shared in an interview:
“There was no official proposal from either side. We studied each other's silence and knew that there was something more than just friendship.”
But, it was in the dance reality show, Nach Baliye, where Ravi went down on his knees and proposed his long-time girlfriend in true Bollywood style with a solitaire ring. In the presence of families of both the sides, Ravi decided to surprise Sargun. He says:
“Finding the perfect ring for her was a task. Sargun was shell shocked. She had no clue about it. She was happy, dumbfounded, tongue-tied. I will always remember her expression.”
And that was it, their relationship was sealed and the couple got hitched on December 7, 2013.
Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Sheikh, the winners of Nach Baliye 3, got married on March 2, 2012. For this adorable couple of telly industry, it was not a love at first sight. It was rather an attraction, at first sight love happened gradually. From good friends they became lovers. And, after a courtship period of about six years, Aamir went down on his knees and popped the question to his lady-love with a diamond ring. Aamir said:
“I did it the conventional way, went down on my knees and then proposed”
And soon after, they had a fairytale wedding.
From being best friends to becoming husband and wife, Mohit Malik and Additie Shirwaikar have enjoyed the best of both worlds. The couple walked down the aisle on December 1, 2010. Initially, they were friends, but once Mohit realised that Aditi was ‘the one’, he proposed to her, to which the Marathi mulgi happily said ‘yes’. The Nach Baliye 4 couple got married soon after.
“What's strange is that I married my best friend. I met her after coming to Mumbai and I found her extremely attractive. We became friends and in no time I fell in love with her and proposed marriage.”
Nach Baliye 4 participants, Mazhar Sayyed and Mouli Ganguly, met on the sets of Kaahin Kissii Roz and fell in love. And, after seven years of courtship, the couple had a registered marriage much to everyone’s surprise. Mouli said:
“We chose a simple marriage because both of us are not in favour of unnecessary celebrations and gimmicks. It was a quiet and private ceremony at our home where people who matter attended and gave us their blessings.”
The hottie couple first met on the sets of their telly show, Pyaar Ke Do Naam; Ek Radha Ek Shyam. Little did anyone know back then that they would eventually become life partners. Their professionalism slowly started getting mixed with their feelings and love.
They together participated on the dance reality show Nach Baliye 3 in 2007. And a year later, the couple got married on March 2, 2008. On Oct 2011, Barkha gave birth to a baby girl named Miera.
As Barkha recalls:
"He went down on his knees to propose to me with a ring. And, I was obviously more than happy to accept it."
Pavitra Rishta fame actor Parag and Kaanta Laga song fame actress Shefali appeared on Nach Baliye 5 in the year 2012. The couple got married, two years later, on August 12, 2014. They are leading a very happy married life now.
In Parag’s own words:
“I like everything about her. She is concerned about the minutest details in my life whether it is my health, my food, my look…”
The awesome couple were participants and second runner-up in season 2 which aired in 2006. Tanaaz and Bakhtiyaar got married in 2006. In an interview, Bakhtiyaar once said:
“People say that relationships are based on trust, but I believe that trust comes later. The foundation of any successful relationship is love. My grandmother always used to say, “Marry the women who loves you, not the women you love.” I am lucky that Tanaaz loves me as much as I love her. We recently celebrated our wedding anniversary and in all these years she has been my strength.”
The couple first met on the sets of Fame Gurukul. There is an age gap of 7 years between the two, and yet their marriage is rock solid. They are parents to three beautiful children- Zeus, Zianne and Zara.
Arjun Punj and Gurdeep Kohli first met on the sets of the famous serial, Sanjivani. It was love at first sight for Arjun. Soon, the two started hanging out and eventually realised that they share a lot of similarities with each other. As Gurdeep recalls:
“We were working together and became good friends. We used to meet on the sets and talk about the industry, films and then we would end up going for a film. We got to know that we are so similar, our tastes are similar, the same kind of people, same kind of films. So, you know that the similarities are there and it happened. It is not that one particular day it happened. We just knew that we would be together.”
The couple participated in Nach Baliye season 2, and were placed seventh. But before the show could witness its finale, Arjun Punj and Gurdeep Kohli (they were eliminated) tied the nuptial knot on December 10, 2006.
Naagin actress, Aashka Goradia and her American boyfriend appeared on the season 8 of Nach Baliye in 2017. Aashka had been dating TV actor, Rohit Bakshi for 10 years but their relationship went kaput. She then started seeing Brent Goble, who is a businessman by profession.
Once when the Goradia family was celebrating Christmas along with Brent, he went down on his knees and surprised everyone by proposing to Aashka to marry her. As Aashka was quoted post-exchanging rings:
“I am on cloud nine! The feeling is yet to settle in. Brent has made me believe that love and companionship exist and one should never give up hope. I am looking forward to a future, which is filled with happiness and togetherness with him.”
Aashka and Brent got married on December 03, 2017 in a Hindu style wedding. Prior to this, they also had a white Christian wedding.
It’s a coincidence that Aashka and Brent got married on the same day as our next couple- Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa. In fact, both the couples participated in Nach Baliye season 8 in 2017. The same year, on December 03, 2017, the two got married.
However, Bharti and Haarsh first met on the sets of Comedy Circus, where she was a contestant and he was scriptwriter. After a year, there was a proposal and they stayed in a relationship for seven long years. And finally, they became husband and wife. In an interview when Bharti was asked about the one thing she likes in Haarsh, she replied:
“He loves me too much. He doesn’t show that too often but keeps teasing me.Especially when I’m unwell, he looks after me.”
When the same question was asked to Haarsh, he replied:
“Yeh bahut genuine hai. She doesn’t differentiate between people. How she jokes with the producer of the show is exactly the same how she is with the spot boy.”
Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim participated in season 8 of the dance reality show in 2017. In fact, Shoaib went down on his knees on-stage to propose Dipika. The two got married on February 22, 2018.
Dipika and Shoaib first met on the sets of Sasuraal Simar Ka and eventually fell in love with each other. Once Shoaib said these beautiful words for Dipika:
"Wherever I am today, it is because of her. When I wasn’t working after quitting Sasural Simar Ka, she told me to make a comeback which is worth remembering. On one hand, I am completely romantic but fail when it comes to being vocal or expressive about it. On the other hand, Dipika is extremely expressive and equally romantic. But she has accepted the way I am and is all OK with my in-expressiveness. She literally treats and pampers me like a kid and I love it."
