If reports are to be believed, Chris died on June 2, 2026, at the age of 83 due to pancreatic cancer. Her demise was confirmed by her family. For those who do not know, Chris was an elementary school teacher, and later, even earned a Master's degree.

Who is Chris Anne’s ex-husband, Timothy Affleck?
Timothy Affleck, who is still best-known as Ben's father and Chris Anne's ex-husband, was born in a working-class family. Even though he didn't attend college, he had a lot of love for books, writing and theatre from a young age.
Over the years, Timothy worked at a variety of jobs including auto mechanic, bartender, carpenter, electrician and more. Ben Affleck once spoke about his father and shared:
"My father was an auto mechanic at Autotorium and a bartender and such. Now, he lives in California working at a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center writing grant proposals and counseling people."
Beside this, he was an aspiring playwright. Reportedly, he got the opportunity to work with the Theatre Company of Boston and he performed with Dustin Hoffman, Robert Duvall and Blythe Danner. His passion for writing left a strong impact on Ben Affleck. It is worth mentioning that even though Timothy was capable of being a successful playwright, it was his alcohol addiction that destroyed most things in his life.
Timothy Affleck went to rehabilitation after his divorce from Chris Anne
As per reports, in the early 1970s, Timothy got married to Chris Anne. In 1972, the former couple welcomed their first son, Ben Affleck, followed by Cassey Affleck, who was born in 1975. The family initially lived in California before moving to Cambridge. It is worth noting that Ben and Cassey spent most of their childhood in Cambridge.
However, it was Timothy's struggle with severe alcoholism due to which their marriage faced several challenges. Ultimately his addiction led to his divorce from Chris Anne. During their divorce, Ben Affleck was only 12-year-old. Post the separation, Timothy's life took a U-turn, when he decided to seek treatment for alcoholism. He entered a rehabilitation program and gradually became sober.
As of now, it's been more than three decades that Timothy Affleck is sober. In the past few years, multiple people including his son, Ben have appreciated him. In a conversation with People, Ben Affleck revealed:
"My father has thirty years of sobriety and I have a tremendous amount of respect for what that takes and what that means. Part of being an adult is learning that your parents are just people. They’re not perfect. They were just doing their best. As a child, we expect perfection out of our parents."
When Timothy spoke about Ben Affleck’s alcoholism
Just like his father, Ben Affleck also dealt with alcoholism and took his own sweet time to get out of it. Amid that, Timothy once sat down for an interview with Gracia, during which he revealed that his addiction might have influenced him. Further, he also blamed Hollywood for Ben’s condition. Timothy was quoted as saying:
"Hollywood is a disgusting place. I think that's been a major factor in Ben's drinking. You're kind of forced to develop a persona that is hard to shed and go home to your family. It affects your whole life. I think that's one of the dangers of the film industry. I was a chronic, severe alcoholic for several years. I had to recover and, happily, I did. Ben has always been serious about getting sober. There is no question about that. He wants a balanced life and he is working at it."
