Jennifer Lopez Opens Up About Her Divorce From Ben Affleck After Two Years, '...You Are The Loser'

Jennifer Lopez, who was recently seen in the romantic movie, Office Romance has often grabbed attention due to her personal life. The singer-turned-actress was previously married to Ben Affleck and the pair broke up in 2024. Well now, the actress opened up about the same and expressed how she wanted to have a party after it.

Recently, Jennifer Lopez appeared on the Subway Takes, during which she had a conversation with Kareem Rahma on the talk show. Talking about her past breakups, including her much talked-about divorce from Ben Affleck, the Can’t Get Enough singer explained:

"Breakups are not a failure. I honestly feel like it's a launchpad into your next best self. We should have a party when we break up. People should say, ‘You broke up? Congratulations.' Because one, you made a decision. Two, it was probably the best thing for everybody. If you go around your life and you're breaking hearts … you're the loser."

Further, Jennifer Lopez shared that she has learnt a lot about things after facing heartbreaks, both in her personal and professional life. The actress explained that every heartbreak, she used to question herself on how she could work on things and improve herself. Explaining the same, Jennifer was quoted as saying:

"I just feel like the biggest growth spurts I've had emotionally, mentally, psychologically have always come from a heartbreak. And that's not just in romantic relationships, that's in work heartbreaks, all of it. It's the only time you dig. You’re like, ‘What the f--- happened? How do I do this? Why do I keep doing this? Or why didn't that happen? What could I have done better?’ You change yourself."

Towards the end of her interview, Jennifer Lopez also revealed the type of guy she likes. Talking about the same, the singer mentioned that she doesn’t discriminate between boys and likes the personality. She said, "I don't discriminate. I like skinny guys. I like a little chunk around the middle. I like beards. I like clean-shaven. It doesn't matter. I like the person inside."

Jennifer Lopez has been married four times

While Jennifer Lopez’s most talked-about relationship is with Ben Affleck, the actress has been married four times; however, all of them ended up in divorce. The singer-turned-actress first got married to Ojani Noa in 1997; however, their forever ended in less than a year, in 1998. Their divorce sparked major legal issues. A few years later, in 2001, Jennifer tied the knot with Cris Judd. But destiny had different plans as they got separated within nine months.

Soon after their divorce was finalised, Jennifer found love in Marc Anthony and got married to him in 2004. They welcomed two children, Maximilian and Emme. After a few years, they announced their split in 2011 and three years later, their divorce was finalised. Later, she was linked with Ben Affleck. The couple were first engaged in the early 2000s but called it off. Two decades later, they reconciled and got married in 2022, only to get divorced in 2024.

Ever since Jennifer and Ben’s divorce, the former has often spoken about the emotional toll. In the past two years, netizens have often showered love on her. A user once commented, "I don’t know it doesn’t seem like being with Ben Affleck is the easiest thing. She isn’t the first woman who has had problems with him." Another user wrote, "It’s so irritating how many men just wait for women to file for divorce. Like they won’t put the effort into a relationship and then they won’t even put effort into the dissolution of the relationship either."
