This led people to think Britney's infidelity ended their relationship. Years later, Britney revealed the truth through her memoir. Years before that, Justin Timberlake's reaction during the VMAs made it to the headlines. It was the 2003 VMAs when Britney performed alongside Madonna and Christina Aguilera.
During their performance, Madonna ended up kissing both of her partners on stage. She first kissed Britney and then smooched Christina Aguilera. While the audience present during the show could see Christina Aguilera being kissed by Madonna, she felt 'left out', as it was not broadcast.
Madonna's lip-lock moment with Britney already caused a stir among the audience. The reason that Madonna and Christina Aguilera's kiss was not broadcast was that the cameras were directly panned to Justin Timberlake, who was present at the VMAs 2003.
