We all remember Janhvi Kapoor beautifully gracing her mother, Sridevi’s dupatta and wearing it just like her, slaying her mother’s saree at the 65th National Film Awards and Janhvi taking care of her father, Boney Kapoor at the National Film Awards 2018 just like her mother used to do. We have time and again seen Janhvi's striking resemblance with her mother, late Sridevi.
As Anil Kapoor rightly tweeted, “Not a day goes by when we don’t miss you Sri. We see your reflection in #JanhviKapoor & #KhushiKapoor everyday.” And this time, not Janhvi, but Sridevi’s youngest daughter, Khushi Kapoor made us miss Bollywood’s iconic lady even more. In a recent picture of Khushi, she can be seen wearing a basic white spaghetti top over a pair of Dolce and Gabbana track pants that belonged to her mother.
We loved how Khushi carried her mother’s grey sweatpants with a sequined butterfly and flower on it. In August 2017, Sridevi donned this lower with a matching sweatshirt at one of her airport appearances. Seeing Khushi in her mother’s wardrobe definitely made all of us nostalgic!
Speaking about her daughters, Janhvi and Khushi, Sridevi shared in a throwback interview, "Janhvi, I feel is more like me - absolutely obedient. Both my children are extremely attached to us. Janhvi seeks more attention from me while Khushi can manage things on her own. Though Janhvi's grown up now, sometimes I still have to feed her. She won't eat properly at certain times, so I have to make sure that she eats properly. Sometimes she tells me to put her to sleep so all these nakhras she does. After Sridevi’s demise, Janhvi in an interview shared how her little sister, Khushi has taken over their mother’s duties and is maternal with her. The Dhadak star shared, "Of course. I could always be the baby with her. When I’d wake up, the first thing I’d do was ask for her. I’d need her to put me to sleep sometimes and she literally had to feed me. The day before she left for the wedding, I had to shoot, but I couldn’t sleep, so I was like, “I need you to come and put me to sleep.” But she was packing, so by the time she came to me I was half asleep. But I could feel her patting my head. I’ve always been very bad at that. Khushi is very maternal with me. I am a full baby. She takes care of me. Now she comes and puts me to sleep sometimes."
During the promotions of Dhadak, Janhvi revealed that Sridevi didn’t want her to become an actress. She had said, “She never wanted me to be an actress. She was more relaxed about Khushi getting into films. She thought I was naïve, that I wasn’t thick-skinned enough. She wanted us to live a more relaxed life. She loved what she did but you know it was intense.”
Janhvi and Khushi’s half-brother, Arjun Kapoor talked about his role in the family and the great upbringing of his two half-sisters. He had shared, “I hope they both are in a better place today than they were a few months ago. It is my job to be there as a source of support while they figure out their lives. It’s not like they have become my responsibility. They are both responsible kids and my father has done a great job bringing them up.
