Jaya Bachchan is one of the most talented, veteran actresses in the Indian cinema. She is renowned for her wonderful acting prowess and beauty, as a result of which her movies are still counted among cult favourites. For the unversed, Jaya happens to be a Bengali by her cultural roots, and she was born to eminent journalist and poet, Tarun Kumar Bhaduri, and his wife, Indira Bhaduri.
According to a recent report by the Free Press Journal, Jaya Bachchan’s mother, Indira Bhaduri has been hospitalised at the Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai. The 93-year-old lady got admitted on December 6, 2023, following heart related health issue. The report further suggested that she might have to undergo pacemaker surgery for the same. However, it is noteworthy to mention that no official confirmation has been made on the report as of yet.

For the unversed, Jaya Bhaduri hails from Jabalpur in Bhopal from her maternal side, where she was born and brought up. Back in 2020, several pictures of Jaya Bachchan along with her husband, Amitabh Bachchan had surfaced. They had joined in, along with the former’s other family members to celebrate her mother, Indira Bhaduri’s 90th birthday, at their ancestral home in Bhopal.
In a previous episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 14, Amitabh Bachchan talked about a time when his mother-in-law, Indira Bhaduri used to accompany her daughter, Jaya, whenever she used to shoot a film with him. He said:

“In earlier days, during film shoot, only two women used to be present on the sets the actress and her mother. Unko pata tha bharose mand hero ke saath kaam kar rahi hai.”

During her interaction on her granddaughter, Navya Naveli Nanda’s podcast, What The Hell Navya, Jaya Bachchan revealed a special hack that her mother, Indira Bhaduri used in order to save money. She mentioned:
“I remember my mother (Indira Bhaduri) had a little kit, where she used to put money and say, ‘yeh bhagwan ke liye hai’. For them (older women) everything is ‘yeh bhagwan karega, yeh bhagwan ne kiya’ with good excuses.”
