Pankaj Tripathi recalls his hard, struggling days to fetch work

In a recent interaction with The Indian Express, Pankaj Tripathi recalled his initial days of career, which was filled with nothing but sheer hardships and struggles. Despite living in dire circumstances, Pankaj dared to dream large and never stopped his endeavours till he manifested his ambitions of becoming an actor. Speaking along the same lines, the actor talked about the hardships he endured to reach where he is now. In his words:

“Yes, I look back but when I do, I get pain in my lower back, so I choose to keep looking forward. Everyday I used to ride my bike for 45 kilometres to reach a studio in Trombay and I’d get paid very less. Your lower back will show if you’ve done a lot of sangharsh. Jokes apart, I don’t really know how it all happened, how it pan out so beautifully, imaandaari se hum lage hue the.”

Pankaj Tripathi says he fits into versatile characters by imbibing the qualities of a river

In his supremely talented career of films to date, Pankaj has played some vivid yet dynamic characters thus far. Be it ‘Kaleen Bhaiyya’ in Mirzapur to ‘Guruji’ in Sacred Games, the list is endless and so is the appreciation. When asked about how he manages to do all of it with such finesse, the actor replied very thoughtfully. Comparing himself with a river, he said:

“My process is to become a river. Rivers are so beautiful, wherever she finds its course she flows. Similarly, I go with the flow. I have learnt acting, studied it and I can talk about it for two hours but it doesn’t serve any purpose. For example, when a yogi is new, he focuses too much on meditation, would talk about the practise and would feel that meditating in the Himalayas and the rules of it, but a seasoned yogi will know that the actual meditation can happen at a crossroad, it doesn’t need special arrangements. Actual meditation happens in the midst of chaos. Acting is like that for me.”
