Since people always have major ‘nineties nostalgia’ moments that they often forget the memorable 2000s, which gave us many blockbuster hits and actors like Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma and many others, to cherish for a lifetime. And any conversation about the best of the 2000s is incomplete without Karan Johar’s 2001 multi-starrer film, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. While it gave us one of the most memorable characters of the decade, Poo, it also showcased the epitome of a mother-son relationship with Jaya Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. Jaya Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan’s mother-son relationship was not only limited to on-screen, but King Khan also shares a warm bond with the entire Bachchan clan. So much so that Shah Rukh’s youngest son, AbRam Khan believes that Amitabh Bachchan is his Dadaji! Before we share more details about the same later, it must be mentioned here that Jaya Bachchan too, treats Shah Rukh Khan as her own son and has a ‘soul connect’ with him.
To give you a recap, as per the reports, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan had an argument at Katrina Kaif's birthday bash in 2008, and the latter ended up making inappropriate comments on Salman's past girlfriends, primarily on Aishwarya Rai. Later, Jaya Bachchan was asked in an interview about Shah Rukh Khan’s remarks on her daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and him attending the premiere of Abhishek Bachchan starrer, Drona.
Sharing how she has a weakness for Shah Rukh Khan, Jaya Bachchan had stated, "Yes. Abhishek called him and said, 'Sir, it will make a huge difference to me if you arrive.' And he did, which I think is very gracious of him. I have a weakness for Shah Rukh."
Commenting on Shah Rukh’s remarks against Aishwarya during his big fight with Salman and if she holds anything against him, Jaya ji was quoted as saying, "Of course, I do. I haven't had the opportunity to discuss it with him, and I am going to speak to him about it. If he was at my home, I would have slapped him, just as I would my own son. But I have connected with him in my soul, and that's it."
In 2014, after the release of Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and Abhishek Bachchan starrer film, Happy New Year, Jaya Bachchan in an interview commented on the movie and called it ‘nonsensical’. Talking about the same, the Sholay star stated, “HNY is the most nonsensical film I’ve seen in recent years. I said that to the film’s lead actor as well. I watched it only because Abhishek was part of it. I told him he’s a great actor if he can act stupid in front of the camera like that. I can’t be part of what is being done in films these days and hence I don’t do films anymore.” (Also Read: Alia Bhatt And Bridesmaids Burn The Dance Floor With 'Lamberghini-Coca Cola Tu' At Devika's Sangeet)
When Shah Rukh was asked to comment on the same, he had shared, “No I am not angry. There’s no trouble, it’s actually embarrassing. They are big people. They are senior to me not just professionally. It looks very odd to be talking like this when there is no reason. I am not angry. I have no reason to be angry.”
Coming back to the Khan-Bachchan relationship, on November 18, 2018, Amitabh Bachchan shared a glimpse from his granddaughter, Aaradhya Bachchan’s birthday bash. Sharing a picture of "the little one", AbRam Khan greeting Mr Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan Nanda standing close by, Big B wrote, "... and this be little Abram, Shah Rukh's little one... who thinks, believes and is convinced beyond any doubt, that I am his father's father... and wonders why Shah Rukh's father does not stay with him!"
To Amitabh Bachchan’s post, Shah Rukh replied, "Sir Aaya Karo na! Please stay at home with AbRam on Saturdays atleast... He has some really amazing games on his ipad... u can doodle jump with him!” Isn’t that adorable?
