Illinois Mom Kills 2-Year-Old Son After Discussing Lindsay Clancy Case, Thought The Kid Was 'Devil'

For those who don't know, Lindsay Clancy's murder trial stemmed from a horrific incident that took place in 2023. Lindsay was charged with the murder of her three kids; however, she pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.
Lindsay was suffering from postpartum psychosis, and her defense team had argued that she should not be held criminally responsible for the murders of her three babies, while the prosecutors maintained that it was planned.

Lindsay got support throughout her murder trial; however, when a mistrial was declared, it left everyone else heartbroken who was waiting for the verdict in this case. Amid this, another shocking incident of a mom killing her kid left people further concerned about women's mental health, postpartum conditions, and the treatments for it, which started being discussed further. The case happened before Lindsay's mistrial was declared.
If the reports are to be believed, a 38-year-old (or 40-year-old) mom named Corie Walsh from Illinois killed her two-year-old son on September 2, 2026. She was arrested following the incident and is currently being treated, according to a September 4, 2026 report. Reportedly, she was found with wounds that were believed to be self-inflicted but not life-threatening.
The incident drew comparisons with the Lindsay Clancy case and re-sparked the conversation surrounding women's mental health. Corie was involved in a group chat where Lindsay Clancy's trial was discussed, and reportedly, after a few hours, the shocking incident took place.
A neighbor found her in a room self-harming, and following this, the cops reached her apartment. A 17-year-old neighbor called the police, while another adult female was believed to have performed CPR on Corie's two-year-old son. According to the prosecutors, the toddler was found unresponsive in the basement with a ligature around his neck. The cops rushed him to the hospital; however, the two-year-old was pronounced dead.
Speaking of Corie, once her treatment is completed, she will be sent to Will County Adult Detention, where she will await a hearing. Prosecutors recently revealed that Corie believed that her son was 'anti-Christ' or 'devil', which led her to take the drastic step.
Another kid was found in Corie's home, unharmed, while Fox News reported that there were three people present at the home, and none of them were harmed by Corie. There are no details available about her medical history or any further information; it hasn't been released yet. However, the case looks almost similar to Lindsay Clancy's.

Lindsay was charged with the murders of her three kids. In her case, as it was claimed, she thought that her kids wouldn't survive without her, and in order to stay together, she strangled them to death, saying 'Go to God'. During the trial, whether through the prosecutor's witnesses or her defense team, it was revealed that Lindsay might have gone through acute psychosis before killing her kids, and she even heard a man's voice warning her about the 'last chance'.
Following the murders of her three kids, Lindsay jumped off her second-story window in an apparent suicide attempt, which left her paralyzed from the waist down. It could not be confirmed whether Corie's case was exactly similar to Clancy's; however, further details may shed light on this. Before killing her kids, Lindsay repeatedly sought help, and she even admitted to having thoughts of harming her children in front of her husband and mom. Speaking of Corie, nothing is known about her medical history. Speaking of the same, one of Corie's neighbors shared:
"This is just absolutely devastating, that this could be another Lindsay Clancy situation in our neighborhood, in our community. You never think it's going to hit so close to home. And, so, yeah, that absolutely makes us think of that. And, again, just more people, I think, are struggling than we realize, and, so, we just need to be there for one another."
