Hina Khan is a name that needs no introduction in Indian television. The actress, who kickstarted her journey with the hit show, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai made her way into the hearts of innumerable audiences, who till now, are continually reminded about her unforgettable performance. Moving on, the diva challenged herself to versatility and had been a part of several films, reality shows and award-winning documentaries. In her personal life, Hina is in a steady relationship with her beau, Rocky Jaiswal.
In a recent interaction with News18 Showsha, Hina Khan opened up about her absence from the 77th Cannes Film Festival 2024. It was in 2019 when she achieved a landmark status by being the first television diva to mark her debut on the red carpet of Cannes. Thereafter, she returned in 2022 and created a storm on the internet with her breathtaking look. However, speaking about her absence from the film festival in 2024, Hina remarked that she will again return to the French Riviera once she has a film to promote there, like her earlier two times. In her words:
“How much I missed being at Cannes this year! Both the times I went with my films. So, when I’ve a film, I’ll go again. I really enjoy dressing up and I know a lot of people in Cannes. I know that I’ve the opportunity to wear such amazing gowns. It’s just that I’m not there! I miss that. I know so many photographers, make-up artists, hair stylists and designers. I know that if I went there, everything would just click.”

Continuing further in the revelation, Hina Khan stated that she wouldn’t want to make another appearance in Cannes just for the sake of it. She wants her visit to be substantial, be in the form of one of her films or through any brand promotion. She said:
“On this international carpet, people showcase high fashion and glam but at the same time, the festival is known for films. If I get an opportunity again, I would love to go. I don’t want to go just for the heck of it. Maybe I’ll go again in a couple of years. I might also go there for a brand.”
In the concluding segment of the interview, Hina was asked to make her pick, when it came to the best fashion look she observed at the Cannes 2024. While the actress remarked not having particularly taken notice of all the looks at the film festival this year, nonetheless, she heaped praises on social media influencer, Nancy Tyagi for her chic fashion choices using self-made outfits. She said:
“I couldn’t keep a tab on this edition but I did see some looks and they were all nice. But I really liked Nancy (Tyagi). She did so well and I’m so proud of her. We’ve some big designers and labels in the fashion industry here. But how many people can actually afford their outfits? Maybe only ten percent of our country can. Nancy really helps them by creating similar pieces. She stitches each piece and puts in a lot of effort. And people can buy those outfits at half the price. She’s catering to many, who cannot afford those expensive pieces of clothing.”

Back in 2022, Hina Khan left everyone’s jaws dropped by pulling off some of the most gorgeous looks at the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival. Among other outfits, it was her lilac-hued plisse gown that grabbed all the attention. Chosen from the shelves of Sophie Couture, the outfit was a dreamy tulle gown featuring an off-shoulder, backless neckline, voluminous ruffles, feather charms and other embellishments. If reports are to be believed, this unique attire of Hina was priced at about 3600 dollars, which comes to around 3 lakhs INR.
