Preity Zinta has undisputably been one of the most versatile actresses in Indian cinema. With her prolific career in the last two decades, the diva has never missed a moment to enthral everyone with her spectacular performance, gorgeous beauty and the most pleasant smile. For the unversed, after debuting in 1998 with the film, Dil Se, she went onto mark a special place in the hearts of her fans with movies like Soldier, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Koi… Mil Gaya, Salaam Namaste, Dil Chahta Hai, Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha, Lakshya among countless others. She was last seen in the film, Bhaiaji Superhit in 2018, post which she decided to take a hiatus from films. Fast forward to now, Preity is all set to make her comeback with the film, Lahore 1947.
In a recent interview with DD India, Preity Zinta opened up about the various choices that she has made in her professional and personal life. The actress divulged the reason behind taking a six-year long break after her last film in 2018 and remarked that initially, back at that time, she only wanted to focus on her business. Moreover, Preity stated that she felt it was the right time for her and her husband, Gene Goodenough to plan their family. For the unversed, the couple is blessed with twins, Jai and Gia. Talking more about how she felt the pressure of her biological clock, Preity said:
“I didn't want to do a film. I was focusing on business, I wanted to focus on my personal life. People forget that for women, as actors, your craft is important, you want a body of work, but you have a biological clock. I've never dated anyone in the industry. I've never dated an actor. So the logical thing was I also needed to have my own family. It's great to play various lives, but you shouldn't forget to live your life. So I wanted to have children. Business was also very exciting since it was something new. But mostly, I wanted to focus on my personal life. I really don't want to be an accomplished actor and a lonely person.”

In the continuing segment of the interview, Preity was then asked to share her views on the constant balance working women need to strike at all times, when it comes to their personal and professional lives. She spoke about her own experience and claimed how the world and society are not equal at times for both man and woman, especially when it concerns the biological clock. In her words:
“It's for every woman who works out there. Everybody tells you that I want equality, I want to work as hard as a man. But the world, they don't give you equality. You have a biological clock. Nature isn't equal to you so you have to leave what you're doing and focus on that.”
In the concluding segment of the interview, Preity Zinta then talked about facing mother’s guilt. The actress revealed that she has jumped back to her strict work commitments and schedules, and had to leave her 2.5 year old twins, Jai and Gia back home. Explaining her tough situation, the diva expressed:
“My kids are two-and-a-half and I'm back at work. I'm loving work, but there's so much guilt everyday that I'm missing out. My daughter Gia and my son Jai look at me and say, ‘Mumma, please stay with us,’ and I start crying.”

Recently, Preity Zinta’s gorgeous looks sent the internet down to a meltdown, as she returned to the prestigious 77th Cannes Film Festival 2024 and made a spectacular appearance. She looked effortlessly gorgeous in a white low-back gown, adorned with white beads and pearl detailing. It also featured subtle bow designs at the back of her sleeves. While the diva perfectly flaunted her hourglass silhouetted, her choice of subtle makeup and a compact hairdo added oomph to her OOTD.
