Savannah Guthrie and the entire family is currently going through the toughest phase of their life, as it has been nearly four months that Nancy has been missing. Forensic scientist, Barbara Butcher opens up about Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapping

Recently, forensic scientist named Barbara Butcher had a conversation on Fox News Digital, during which she got candid about Nancy Guthrie's kidnapping. She revealed that her initial thought on the kidnapping was ransom, only because she is rich. She also stated that Nancy's kidnapper might be someone she knows like a handyman or a service person. She was quoted as saying:

"I find it flabbergasting that anyone would take a woman her age. But what I think is probably the case is that someone in the area, maybe a handyman, maybe a service person, had known, had found out that Mrs. Guthrie was the mother of Savannah Guthrie and said, ‘Oh, she must be rich.’ So this person is not well. That was my first thought."

Further, Barbara Bautcher explained that now that it's been more than 120 days, she thinks the intention behind Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapping might not be ransom. She also stated that the possible reason behind the kidnappers not asking ransom might be because Nancy’s may have died due to shock or some health issues. In her words:

"My second thought was that after time, when there was no valid ransom demand or any information forthcoming, that it’s probably likely that Mrs. Guthrie died of shock, fright, heart disease, whatever it was, very soon after being taken from her home. And that’s just horrifying to me, just horrifying. And so now this kidnapper had nothing and probably, unfortunately, took her body into the desert and buried her there."
