Nancy Guthrie Kidnapped By 'Somone Known'? Expert's Big Claims As Son-In-Law Treated As Suspect

The entire world is waiting with bated breath to know the details about Nancy Guthrie's kidnapping. As the search has crossed 100 days, the Guthrie family has not yet lost their hope in god and miracles. They believe that they will be reunited with their mother one day. Savannah Guthrie has even hired private detectives to speed up the search. Amidst it, experts believe that Nancy has been kidnapped by someone known. Also, a skull is unearthed near her home, which is said to be human remains.

Nancy Guthrie is the mother of Savannah Guthrie, who is the co-host of The Today Show. Due to her daughter's presence in the media world, the case grabbed a lot of attention. Another fact is that Nancy was 84 years old when she was abducted from her home in the middle of the night in her pyjamas. So far, no suspect has been named. 

Amidst it, a human skull was unearthed near her home, but the anthropologist, James T. Watson, claimed that the remains are not related to the case, which was discovered during the excavation at the location. James shared that the remains are those of a person who was interred between 1,000 and 700 years ago. Authorities also stated that the remains were of human origin, and they are being referred to as prehistoric since they belong to somebody who had passed very long ago. 

Someone known kidnapped Nancy Guthrie

With the ongoing investigation, a criminal defence and civil rights attorney, John W. Day, told Hello! that he believed that the most credible theories making rounds on the internet are the ones which are not sensationalised. He added that the law enforcement has consistentatly emphasis that it is an intentional kidnapping tied to Nancy Guthrie and not just any random crime. 

John further highlighted that with the information available in the public domain, it is highly believed that the kidnapping has been executed by someone familiar with the 84-year-old Nancy and her family. He also added that the person involved in the crime knows about the property and the family's routine. He said:

"The publicly known facts; the reported surveillance footage, the apparent planning involved, and the ongoing focus on forensic evidence, suggest investigators are looking at someone who may have been familiar with Nancy Guthrie, the family, the property, or the family's routines."

John further stated that he doesn't believe in the internet-driven theories. He added that these theories grow due to the information vacuum. He further stated that only investigators know how much more than they can disclose publicly, especially in a kidnapping case where serving the integrity of evidence is important. 

Nancy Guthrie's missing case, new update

A profound update has emerged in Nancy Guthrie's kidnapping case as JLR investigator found a pyjama top while searching the area, which was a few minutes away from her home in Tucson, Arizona. The 84-year-old, Nancy Guthrie disappeared from her home in Catalina Foothills in Tucson, Arizona, on January 31, 2026. She had her last dinner with her elder daughter, Annie Guthrie, and her husband, who were the last people to drop her off at her home.
