The iconic Indian lawyer, Harish Salve was born on June 22, 1955, into a Marathi family. While his father, N. K. P. Salve was a chartered accountant, who later became a renowned Congress Party politician, Harish’s mother, Ambriti Salve was a doctor. Not only this, Harish’s paternal grandfather, P.K. Salve was a famous criminal lawyer, and his great-grandfather was a subordinate judge (a munsif). At the beginning of his career as a lawyer, Harish Salve assisted many famous advocates. Some of the biggies whom he assisted include Palkhivala, former Attorney General, Soli Sorabjee, and many others. One of the biggest reasons why Harish managed to become what he is today is the fact that he assisted some of the best advocates in India, and that too in complex cases. Talking about some of the most famous cases of Harish Salve’s career as a lawyer include the Kulbushan Jadhav case, the pro-bono offer, batting for Indian banks opposite defaulting borrowers, representing Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and many more.
It was back in 2017 when one of India’s top advocates, Harish Salve took the high-profile case of Kulbhushan Jadhav into his hands. While on one side, he only charged a sum of Rs. 1, Pakistan reportedly spent Rs. 20 crores on their lawyers. The case was fought at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), where Harish Salve opposed the Pakistani military court’s decision to give the death penalty to Kulbhushan, who was an Indian national.
Pakistani military suspected that Kulbhushan Jadhav wasn’t an ordinary Indian national but a snipper cell of India’s intelligence agency. As per reports, Kulbhushan was a former Indian Navy officer who was arrested by Pakistani police in Balochistan. Harish Salve’s tactics worked, and the international court declined the death penalty. The ICJ told the Pakistani military court to run the trial and conviction process from scratch. It was a remarkable win for India, and all credit goes to Harish Salve.

Talking about Harish Salve’s personal life, the famous advocate got married for the first time in his life in 1982. Harish tied the marital knot with Meenakshi Salve, and the couple was madly in love with each other. Together, they welcomed two daughters, Sakshi and Saaniya. However, despite having two kids and spending 38 years, Harish and Meenakshi shocked the world when they got divorced in June 2020.
After his divorce from Meenakshi Salve in June 2020, Harish Salve fell in love with an artist named Caroline Brossard. Harish tied the knot with Caroline within four months on October 28, 2020.
If the reports are to be believed, Harish and Caroline met for the first time at an event and hit off instantly. However, cracks soon started appearing in their happy married life. Although the correct date when they got divorced isn’t mentioned anywhere on the internet, some reports assume that Harish and Caroline ended their marriage in 2021.
On September 3, 2023, Harish Salve broke the internet when pictures of him posing with his third wife, Trina made their way on the internet. While most people were in shock, many liked his urge to fall in love again, even at the age of 68.
The famous advocate got married in London, and their loved ones and families were in attendance. It was a star-studded affair which was attended by many big celebrities.
