Recently, his wife, Sunita Ahuja, slammed him for his closeness with much younger actress Komal Rani Swarnkar. For the unversed, Komal is sharing screen space with Govinda in the upcoming film, Roopa. While time and again Sunita hurled cheating allegations at Govinda, now it seems he has indirectly reacted to her claims.

Bollywood’s 'Hero No.1' participated in the Youth Shakti Dahi Handi event, where he seemingly commented on his wife, Sunita Ahuja’s cheating claims. Earlier, during an interaction with paps, Sunita blasted Govinda and his reported extramarital affair with Komal. She pointed out that they were promoting the film, Roopa, even before it was complete. She also slammed Komal’s way of dressing and called Govinda her 'sugar daddy.' Now, Govinda shared that many wrong things about him are currently doing the rounds on the internet. He said:
"Bohot si baatein aasman mein likh di gayi hain. Main prarthana karta hoon ki wo clean up ho aur Govinda usko clear up kar paye. Aaplog ka sahyog chahiye, sath chahiye."
Earlier, in August 2026, Govinda was spotted with rumoured girlfriend, Komal, at the Mumbai airport. Govinda was seen wearing a mauve tuxedo with a matching shirt underneath and black-hued trousers. On the other hand, the newcomer actress looked stunning in a yellow-hued maxi dress. Taking a dig at Govinda, Sunita said:
"Beti ki umar ki ladki ko leke ghum raha hai, sharam toh aana chaiye thodha isko. Aur standard toh hona chaiye. Tumhara sugar daddy itna ameer hai, kapde toh dhang ke pehno. Humlog ko dekho, kya style mein chalte hai. Very bad, he’s lost his mind."
Sunita’s statement didn’t go well with Govinda, and he gave a befitting reply. He shared that Sunita was leaving no stone unturned to make sure that he fell out of the audience’s hearts. It is worth mentioning that Govinda has won many hearts with her stellar performances in films, including Coolie No. 1, Hero No. 1 and Raja Babu. He also warned Sunita and told her to stay within her limits. He was quoted as saying:
"Kisi gareeb parivaar se jab log film line mein aate hain, unhein is kadar lajjit ya badnaam mat kijiye ki woh bhaag jaayen. You are leaving no stone unturned to make sure that I fall out of people’s hearts. You have already been blessed with fame, respect, and wealth; God has given you all of it. That doesn’t mean you should humiliate someone who doesn’t have what you have."

In an interview with ANI, Govinda revealed that Sunita has a habit of hurling abuses at him. He stated that despite the allegations, it was Sunita who raised their kids and their nieces and nephews. For the uninitiated, Sunita fell in love with Govinda when she was just 15. During a conversation, Sunita shared that back then she used to stay with her sister, and her brother-in-law was Govinda’s uncle.
Recalling the days, Sunita mentioned that she and Govinda used to dance together and eventually love blossomed between them, and they got married. For those unaware, Govinda and Sunita tied the knot on March 11, 1987, in a hush-hush ceremony. At that time, Sunita was 18. She embraced motherhood at the age of 19. Sunita and Govinda are parents of Tina Ahuja and Yashvardhan Ahuja.
