The comedy king, Kapil Sharma is not just another name, he has created a whole legacy for himself. From his on-point punch lines to his 'in the air' fights (his tiff with Sunil Grover), Kapil has proved that it takes a lot of effort to make someone laugh but a second to make them upset. And which took a toll on his health and fans were anxious to know what was wrong with him. But with the support of his ladylove, Ginni Chatrath, his life came back on the track. Ginni stood like a pillar of strength when Kapil saw his downfall and that is what made their relationship more strong. On December 12, 2018, the two exchanged the wedding vows in an intimate ceremony. For those who don't know, Kapil and Ginni were friends since their college days, and they came close when they participated in Star One’s show, Hans Baliye.
Recently, the telly town is abuzz with the rumours of Ginni's pregnancy. According to a report by News 18, Ginni is expecting her first baby, and Kapi's mother is in the town to take care of her. And while nothing has been yet confirmed, we got hold of Ginni's first picture post these speculations. On May 31, 2019, Kapil took to his Instagram and shared a picture with legendary actor, Dharmendra and his wife, Ginni. In the picture, we saw the beautiful Ginni, donning a bright floral dress. Coming back to Kapil and Ginni's love story, in an interview, Kapil had opened up about his love story, and had shared, “She studied in HMV College (Jalandhar). I was a scholarship holder, as I was a national winner in theatre. I was a student at APJ College and in order to make some pocket money, I started directing plays. I went to audition students at her college and that’s how we met in 2005.” Ginni then went to audition for a play and that’s where the two met for the first time. Kapil continued, “She was 19 then and I was 24. I was tired of taking auditions and explaining the role to the girls. Ginni was so good that I was quite impressed with her and told her to audition the girls for me. As we started the rehearsals, she started bringing food for me. In the same interview, Kapil had revealed that Ginni's father had rejected his marriage proposal. He had shared, “When I started earning well, my mother took my marriage proposal to her family, which got rejected. Inke papaji ne bade pyaar se bola, ‘Shut up’ (laughs!). Thereafter, I got busy with work, while she pursued MBA in finance. I guess, she kept studying to avoid marriage proposals. At that time, I was settled in Mumbai, and so much was happening in my life. I then realised ki itna kuchh hua hai, but isne kabhi mujhe disturb nahi kiya. Itna patience kisi mein nahi dekha maine. Jab ye sab gadbad chal rahi thi, that’s when I decided that it was the right time to marry. It was my decision, because ye toh padhai kare hi jaa rahi thi (laughs!). So, on December 24, 2016, I called and told Ginni that I wanted to marry her. My mother has always been fond of her.”
In an earlier interview with the IANS, Kapil had talked about his wedding, “We wanted to keep it low key. But Ginni is the only daughter in her family. Her folks wanted the wedding to be on a lavish scale. And I completely understand their sentiments. My mother also wants the wedding to be lavish”. He had further added, “My mother has been saying that I should get married for a long time. Suddenly I realised that ‘abhi age ho rahi hai’ (I am getting on in age).
