While we do look forward to the fights, admit it or not, we actually wait for the lights to go off at the Bigg Boss house so as to see a lot of budding romance that happens under the bedsheet. And so, we have come up with a list of all the major affairs, flings, relationships that have even led to marriages inside the Bigg Boss cradle. So what are you waiting for? Read on!
Karishma and Upen’s steamy romance and passionate liplocks after the lights went off was something to watch out for! Although some people termed their relationship as fake and just a publicity stunt to garner more votes, this ‘ex-Bigg Boss couple’ proved everyone wrong when they were often spotted together at social gatherings, holidays and parties. Upen had even proposed to Karishma on national television in the show Nach Baliye and the duo had even judged MTV’s Love School. But life had some other plans for the couple and they soon parted ways. Karishma had shared after her split:
“Sometimes there is no answer to what went wrong. Sometimes two wonderful people or good souls are not meant to be together. That’s what happened to us. Upen is a wonderful soul. We connected very strongly, but things didn’t move the way we wanted it to. It’s not that I don’t want to settle down or I am jumping from one relationship to another. We both wanted to settle down, but if we don’t see our future together then its better to part ways.”
Gautam Gulati surely seemed to have one good time in the Bigg Boss house! His was an ‘inside the bathroom door’ romance, exchanging cheesy glances and talks with the bold and beautiful, Diandra Soares. Also, don’t forget their steamy back massages and lip-locks every now and then inside the house. These two were like newbie lovebirds, who couldn’t get their hands off each other. In an interview after winning the Bigg Boss prize, he shared that going inside the bathroom was one of the biggest mistakes that he has made:
“I know there was an ‘Emraan Hashmi moment’ between us. It was a momentary impulse. It would be rude to reject a girl who kisses me. So I kissed her back. There was nothing more than that. I am going to marry the girl that my mother chooses for me. We are just friends; there can be nothing beyond that. I regret going into the bathroom with her. There was nothing between us and will never be. I have always drawn a line in every relationship and I would never overstep that.”
These two ‘then lovebirds’ could always be seen sitting on the couch, hugging and kissing each other on their foreheads. Be it that they had split sometime after Bigg Boss was over, Tanishaa and Armaan were a huge support for each other inside the house. Many people went on to think that Ajay Devgn will soon have his junior in the Mukerji household, but alas! Things didn’t go as per planned and the couple went to announce the news of their separation on social media. In an interview with the TOI, Tanishaa had shared:
“All I have to say is Armaan and I are very different people with different ideologies and I wish him the best. God bless him.”
She had further said:
“Marriage is not a game. It’s not something you just fall into. We all are adults; we have to take intelligent decisions about our lives. Like I said, Armaan and I are completely different people and our ways of living are very different.”

‘Gaushal’ as they were called by fans, were head over heels in love with each other. From taking stands to ‘almost’ ready to give ones’ life for each other made Gauahar and Kaushal the ‘it’ couple of the Bigg Boss house. Gauahar and Kaushal’s relationship was going strong and the duo had posted pictures of them holidaying together after the show and had even appeared in Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s superhit, Zaroori Tha. But things went downhill and this ex-couple ended on a bad note. In a recent interview with Bombay Times, Gauahar spoke about the kind of equation she now has with her ex-boyfriend, Kushal:
“I have always been dignified and have known where to draw the line. It was an amazing one-and-a-half-year of relationship with him and there is no bitterness from my side. First of all, I never mentioned his name, the media made those assumptions. If you are quoting me in connection with someone else, it’s your onus and not mine. There are two golden words called ‘no comments’ and I use them very well. So, no comments. I wish everyone, who has been a part of my journey, well.”
The pretty Ye Toh Bada Toing Hain girl, Sana Khan hit not one, but two birds with the same stone inside the Bigg Boss house! Her contestants, the hot and handsome, Vishal Karwal and Delnaaz Irani’s ex-hubby, Rajeev Paul were smitten with Sana’s beauty and charm. The charm and liking was, however, limited just to the show and nothing much was heard of these three inmates. Post the show, Sana shared something interesting about Vishal:
“He chased me for three months before the show. But, Vishal Karwal is not my friend now, and Bigg Boss made me realise that he was never a friend in the first place.”
Speaking of her friendship with Rajeev Paul, Sana had then shared in an interview:
“Rajeev is aware of my personal life. In fact I have even told him that I want to find a good guy and make him meet Rajeev.”
After things not working out between Sana Khan, Vishal developed a great camaraderie with his fellow contestant on the show, Karishma Kotak. Unlike other Bigg Boss couples, Vishal and Karishma were never a part of any cosiness, liplock or shout-outs at each other. Theirs was a sweet one which started on a silent note and ended peacefully. Although the ‘couple’ was tight-lipped about their relationship, a source close to the couple had shared with TellyChakkar:
“The two did see each other for a long time and have always been very secretive about their relationship. There were even reports of the two contemplating marriage. But now the sad news is that they have split.”

‘Sky’ as he is fondly called, found love inside the Bigg Boss house in Kabir Bedi’s daughter, Pooja Bedi. The ex-couple, had participated in the 5th season (2012) of the reality show and they were was always spotted together inside the house. Pooja and Akashdeep were never comfortable talking about each other in the media. After Bigg Boss was over, the couple soon parted ways. However, last year (2017), the ‘once couple’ was spotted by TellyChakkar, entering a social gathering. The couple looked much in love, the whole of evening. When asked of the same, Pooja retorted by saying:
“I share good friendship with all my ex-boyfriends. Akash is a gentleman and a nice human being and we were together at the party because of the friendship we share. There is nothing more than that.”
Talk about being cosy inside the Bigg Boss house, Pakistani actress, Veena Malik and Ashmit Patel would surely top the list! Cameras would often find Veena putting Ashmit to sleep and spending quality times and sweet gestures with each other. After the show was over, the couple had a bitter ending and the two even went onto work in a film, Supermodel in 2013, when they were not even on talking terms. In a throwback interview with The Indian Express, Veena shared how difficult it is to share screen space with someone with whom you are not even on talking terms. She had then stated in an interview:
“It was very tough to shoot intimate scenes together... I have never been through such trauma. A person you talk to everyday, is so close and then you are not even looking at each other. During the shoot of the movie we weren't even talking to each other, we had a cold war going on.”
In yet another interview, she revealed:
“Ashmit was never my friend. We met in 'Bigg Boss' (season 4 in 2010) and after that we have not met. I am just working. I have friendship only with my career”.
Further added:
“I have no connection with anyone whom I met in 'Bigg Boss'”.
Rahul Mahajan was truly, a playboy inside the house. From his sizzling chemistry with Paayal Rohatgi to sharing a few of his famous hysterical laughter with the controversy queen, Monica Bedi, Rahul Mahajan ensures that wherever he goes, the spotlight follows. Paayal and Rahul were also quite close to each other and Rahul, on the other hand, time and again expressed his liking towards Monica. But Monica was hesitant to respond to Rahul’s fondness as she was doubtful of his growing closeness with Paayal. The Jaanam Samjha Karo actress went a step ahead to clarify their relationship from Paayal. At a throwback interview with DNA, she had shared:
“When I saw Rahul and Paayal from outside, I was very confused about his feelings for me. I didn't want to come in between them. Then I confirmed thrice with Payal. She told me that they are just friends and have no future together as she is very focused towards her career”.
Speaking of the kind of person that Rahul is, Monica had further shared in the same interview:
“Rahul has a 'bacha' (child) in him, he is very patient and doesn't get irritated quickly. I really like these qualities about him and respect his feelings for me. He is slightly mad, but not bad.”

Another short fling and a potential dating scenario was building up for Emotional Atyachar fame, Pravesh Rana and his fellow German model-actress inmate, Claudia Ciesla. While most of the relationship buzzes inside the Bigg Boss house is merely termed as publicity stunts to garner more votes, Claudia went a step ahead where she sacrificed a hand grenade to grant immunity to her ‘dear friend’, Pravesh. There’s was a short fling and nothing much was ever heard of their togetherness. In a 2009 throwback interview, Claudia shared about her equation with Pravesh. She had then shared:
“Pravesh and I are only friends, nothing else. We are comfortable with each other because we are of the same age and profession. So we had a lot in common to talk about.”
On the same note, Pravesh had shared:
“We've met just 4-5 times after Bigg Boss, and all during social gatherings. I don't even have her telephone number. We're just friends.”
From brushing his English to becoming ‘good friends’, ever since Diana made her entry in Bigg Boss house, the duo went onto become great friends (probably). And when two people become great friends in the Bigg Boss house, your inmates and people start linking and that is what exactly happened with the duo. But as they say, there is no smoke without fire! Ashutosh was already in a relationship with Sonel Singh, his fellow contestant during his Roadies days, but the duo broke up soon. In a throwback interview with DNA, Ashutosh was asked if his growing closeness to his inmate, Diana is a probable reason behind their breakup, he shared:
“Sonel has no reason to feel insecure. She knows what kind of a person I am. There was nothing between Diana and me. It was just in good jest and was there for all to see. I’m ready to get a rakhi tied by Diana to prove that there’s nothing between us.”
The winner of Bigg Boss 9 surely made his presence felt in the house, thanks to his multiple flings. Prince and Dilbar fame, Nora Fatehi’s growing closeness did not spare the inmates and the viewers attention but the Badho Bahu star had some key takeways from his stint. Though his and Nora’s closeness ended soon, Prince found the love of his life from the same reality show, Yuvika Chaudhary, to whom he is already engaged and marriage is soon the cards for the couple, sometime later this year (2018). In an interview with the TOI, Prince had shared:
“When you are in a reality show and in one house you connect with the people there. But when you come out, you get busy with work and meet other people. That is why very few reality show relationships work outside. The only three people who I continue to bond after the show are Kishwer Merchant, Suyyash Rai and Yuvika Choudhary”.

Who knew that a normal Noida-based boy would live among top celebrities of the industry and yet go on to win Bigg Boss 10? Manveer’s way of tackling things inside the house surely impressed all and more so, his growing closeness with another commoner in the house, Nitibha Kaul. Rumours also had it that Manveer’s friends also call Nitibha, their ‘bhabhi’. In this context, Manveer had shared:
“Nitibha came out of Bigg Boss earlier than me and she was approached for Nach Baliye. There was nothing going on, but they (the makers) also believed the rumours like everyone else. But then I was approached for Khatron Ke Khiladi and I wanted to be part of that”.
The handsome hunk, Amar Upadhyay was often regarded as the ‘kishan’ of the Bigg Boss house. Inspite of being married and having two kids when he came to the show, Amar was mostly seen ‘growing’ his friendship with Vida. His co-inmate, Akashdeep Saigal (Sky) had hurled hasty remarks at Amar’s flirtatious nature. Sky had even went onto say:
“Jo aadmi (Amar) apni biwi aur bachchon ka nahin ho sakta… yahan par woh Vida (Samadzai) ke saath apne gulchhare uda raha hai… woh aadmi kiska ho sakta hai?... Usse pata nahin ke kaise dikhega woh wahan pe.”
Already being termed as ‘Gaunali’, Gautam had one good time at the Bigg Boss house! From Diandra Soares to Xpose fame, Sonali Raut, Gautam and Sonali’s lovestruck phase did not go unnoticed by people. Well, a prominent member from the production team shared with the HT in a throwback interview:
“From exchanging glances, whispering sweet-nothings to getting all touchy-feely and snuggly, the chemistry between Gautam and Sonali is something one cannot miss. The two have been speaking in code language… there seems to be some flirtatious signals that she is giving him, trying to hide from the cameras and scribble stuff on the sofa or the bed with her fingers. Gautam looks puzzled and is heard telling her, ‘Don’t confuse me, be specific in expressing your feelings’”.

Mona Lisa was already a big star down in the Bhojpuri film industry, when she came to Bigg Boss as a contestant. This resulted in a boost to the actresses’ further popularity. Inside the house, Mona Lisa was inseparable with her fellow inmates, Manu Punjabi and Manveer Gurjar. And when celebs become inseparable with each other, linkup rumours and cosiness follows. This is what happened with these celebs. Soon, all fling rumours died down as Mona Lisa got married inside the Bigg Boss house with her beau, Vikrant Singh Rajput.
“I didn't know what was going on outside, because we were quite normal with each other and stayed as friends. I used to care for him, and his care towards me was even more. All three of us (Manu, Manveer) used to chill together, so we never felt anything wrong. When I came out of the house, I saw that much had happened and his fiancée and Vikrant were called, that was shown in an entirely different way on screen. Both of us knew about each other's personal life, so nothing was possible between us."
Well, this couple surely waited for the lights to turn off like no other! From sleeping in the same bed, to kissing each other and chatting all the night long, Bandgi and Puneesh were completely into each other. Reports had it that Bandgi was already dating someone before entering the Bigg Boss house but the two set aside every hurl and abuses, and just paid attention to their relationship. The couple is still going strong with their relationship and we hope it leads to something fruitful! In an interview with the HT in March 2018, the couple was asked if marriage is anytime soon on the cards for the couple. To this, Bandgi laughed off by sharing:
“Our fans would want us to get married tomorrow.”
Further adding:
“But there’s time still. It has been just six months that Bigg Boss got over, and we are still finding ourselves. [To] those who thought that our relationship was fake, we should give some time to find out that it isn’t.”
They fought, kissed and hurled abuses at each other. Raj and Sambhavna had a short fling which soon resulted into ugly spats. From Raja comparing Sambhavna to an ‘ashtray’, to the latter calling the former mentally unstable, it is difficult to gauge who’s who and what, inside the giant set. Speaking of the allegations, Raja had then shared:
“I have nothing to do with her [Sambhavna Seth], I find her ugly. Kissing her was like kissing an ashtray!”
And Sambhavna had shared:
“You might be thinking that he is doing all this for publicity, but I am sure there is some problem with him. I do not know if it is because of his emotional imbalance or because of something else, but he needs treatment."
Still together or ex-couple? Aarya and Minissha kept people guessing this for a long time when the reality show started. Aarya and Minissha had been dating at one point in time but the duo parted ways. And when two exes meet inside the Bigg Boss house, controversies are bound to happen! As a result, both of them were seen accusing each other. At one such instance, Minissha had even revealed that she got a call from Aarya just before they were all set to enter the Bigg Boss house and pretend to be a couple but Aarya had denied all such claims and said that he only asked Minissha if he could hug her or hold her hand. At once such instance, Minissha had even called Aarya, ‘thali ka baigan’, infront of all Bigg Boss inmates and superstar Hrithik Roshan.
