Popular Hindi film actor and National Award winner, Ashish Vidyarthi garnered a lot of limelight when he surprised everyone with his second marriage at the age of 60. It was in May 2023, when Ashish got married to Rupali Barua in Kolkata in an intimate ceremony. And since then, the duo has been a victim of social media trolling for the same.
Now, in an interview with Behindwoods TV, Ashish and Rupali talked about the trolls and the negative comments they faced. Revealing how she doesn’t care what people say, Rupali said:
“I did not give a damn to it because those people I don’t know. They have seen something that is very un-obvious, for normal people. Because they don’t know about it. It didn’t affect me so much because I didn’t read the comments so much. My close ones are supporting me, I don’t need any other validation."
Ashish, who was earlier married to Rajoshi Vidyarthi also revealed that both he and Rupali don’t need to prove a point and said:
“Two things with love and affection- you don’t need to prove a point. We both were not out there to prove any point. No upset, no anger, but do something that makes you happy.”
In the same interview, Rupali also stated that getting a companion at this age is a blessing and retorted:
“Being given this opportunity by the universe is a big thing. Any other thing is small. I know what I have been missing. To find a companion at this age is a blessing. That blessing is so big that everything else, the negativity is blurred."
It was on May 25, 2023, that Ashish and Rupali Barua had a registered marriage. On their big day, the doting couple looked adorable as they donned subtle-hued wedding ensembles. Rupali looked stunning as she opted for a beautiful cream-coloured mekhela chador, a traditional Assamese saree. The then-to-be bride completed her look with soft makeup and gold jewellery. On the other hand, Ashish looked dapper as he sported a matching golden kurta with a dhoti and gamcha.
On the work front, Ashish was last seen in the film, Kuttey!
