Globally loved singer and actor, Ariana Grande is making headlines yet again. Even though she is dominating the headlines for her single, hate that I made you love me, her shocking appearance has left her sea of fans concerned. For the unversed, after a long break due to acting, Ariana returned back to singing; however, her extra thin appearance sparked major health concerns.
Ariana Grande recently returned to music, after winning hearts in her role in Wicked. For the unversed, it was on May 29, 2026, when she released the single, hate that I made you love me from her album Petal. Reportedly, the song was co-written by Max Martin and it crossed millions of streams soon after its release.

The music video of the same was released on June 1, 2026, and while most fans were mesmerized by Ariana Grande's soulful voice, thoughtful lyrics and the video, a few eagle-eyed fans noticed the singer's appearance and felt she appeared very thin. Eventually, when the behind-the-scenes of the music was shared, fans questioned the singer and wondered if Ariana is dealing with health issues.

Soon, a lot of fans started sharing clips of Ariana Grande along with their concerns on X (formerly Twitter). One fan commented, "I don’t body shame but this is not healthy. I pray she heals from whatever she is battling." Another user shared, "What has she done to her face." A third user wrote, "This is not skinny. Why are people pretending this is normal?" A fourth user penned, "Sorry, but she looks sick (no shade) she's stunning and all of that, but she looks very skinny and we can see her bones."

This is not the first time that Ariana Grande is sparking an online debate about her skinny appearance, a similar thing happened a few months ago, in November 2025. At that time, the singer shared an old clip, amid all the body-shaming comments. Eventually, she revealed that she had been diagnosed with COVID. While she didn’t connect the same with her appearance, multiple fans felt it.

Before that, in 2023, Ariana Grande shared a video on her social media handle to address the situation. She explained that people could be healthier even if they look thin. She also requested people to be gentler. She was quoted as saying:
"I just wanted to address your concerns about my body and talk a little bit about what it means to be a person with a body and to be seen and to be paid such close attention to. I think we could be, I think we should be, gentler and less comfortable commenting on people's bodies, no matter what — if you think you're saying something good or well-intentioned, whatever it is, healthy, unhealthy, big, small, this, that, sexy, nonsense — we just should really work towards not doing that as much."
