However, it looks like the actress was planning to return to Bollywood before her second pregnancy, but destiny had different plans.

They embraced parenthood with the arrival of their daughter, Vamika, in 2021. Virat and Anushka welcomed their second child, a baby boy, on February 15, 2024. Recently, a netizen dropped some screenshots of Anushka Sharma's IG posts from last year. Sharing the pictures, the social media user mentioned that Anushka was preparing for a comeback to Bollywood before her second pregnancy, but she couldn’t. The actress got in shape at the beginning of 2023 and was increasing her public presence. She also did a magazine shoot in March and attended the Style Icon Awards and the Dior show in the same month. Later, she graced Cannes in May 2023, contrary to her nature of not tending to attend events for no reason.
Soon after the post went viral on Reddit, and several netizens started reacting to it. A section of netizens agreed with the claims made in the post, whereas some others mentioned that Anushka wanted to focus on her family. However, what caught our attention was that many social media users pointed out that Anushka's second pregnancy was unplanned and ruined her plans to make a comeback.

It was on February 20, 2024, when Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma announced the arrival of their second baby into the world. The newbie parents posted a picture note on their respective IG handles and shared that they embraced parenthood for the second time with the arrival of their little prince, Akaay. They further revealed that Vamika's little brother was born on February 15, 2024. The newbie parents also requested their fans to respect their privacy.

Earlier, an old video of Anushka Sharma surfaced on Reddit, wherein she mentioned that she does not want to work after having kids. The video is from Simi Garewal’s show, India’s Most Desirable, in which the host, Simi asked Anushka, “Is marriage important to you?” To this, Anushka replied that marriage is very important to her and she probably does not want to be working after getting married and having kids. The actress was heard saying:
“Very important. I want to be married. I want to have kids and when I am married, I probably do not want to be working”.

In an interview with Wrogn, Virat Kohli reflected on Anushka Sharma's motherhood journey with the arrival of their daughter, Vamika, and shared how he was amazed by the transformation. Talking about the strength it takes to become a mother, Virat shared how Anushka has been juggling her career and motherhood. The cricketer added that seeing your life partner become a mother is a blessing and said:
"When you see a life partner become a mother that's when you realise and understand the strength of a mother. The way Anushka handled everything is amazing and astonishing, she shot a whole film in between.”
