Amidst the news of many celeb couples welcoming their little bundles of joy, we came across another TV celeb who embraced motherhood recently. Yeh Hai Mohobbatein fame Karan Patel’s ex and Kasturi co-star, Amita Chandekar Tiwari became a mom on February 4, 2018, to a baby girl, Zya. Amita’s husband, Ritesh Tiwari announced the good news by sharing a family picture of newbie parents with their newborn daughter on his Instagram handle.
After Amita and Ritesh’s little one turned 4-month-old, they organised a baptism ceremony and announced that Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi fame couple, Hiten Tejwani and Gauri Pradhan are her Godparents. Sharing the following picture from Zya’s Baptism, Amita captioned it as, “God bless you my child! You are a blessing in our life. #baptism #love I'm so grateful for our friends for being a part of your special day. #Godparents @gpradhan @hitentejwani”
In another picture that she shared, they can be seen performing a ritual with Hiten and Gauri’s twins, Nevaan and Katya. Amita captioned the picture as, “Thank you Katya didi n nevaan bhaiyya. Lots of love - zya” (Also Read: 'Banoo Main Teri Dulhann' Fame Snehal Sahay Becomes Mother, Divyanka Shares Baby's First Pic)
Gauri too shared a picture on her Instagram handle, with Hiten, their twin, Nevaan and Katya, and Zya. Gauri captioned the pic as, “Thank you zya for choosing us to be your godparents!!love you #zya’sbaptism #sanjose #excitement #godparents #goddaughter”
In Christianity, the parents choose a Godparent for their child who presents the child at Baptism and will take responsibilities of the child’s upbringing and personal development, if anything happens to the parents. Amita and Riteish chose Gauri and Hiten to be their daughter Zya’s Godfather and Godmother. In an interview with a media portal, Hiten talked about the same and shared, “It is Amita’s baby and her name is Zya. We are now her godparents. It is equivalent to being a legal guardian.” (Also Read: Karan Johar's Mom, Hiroo Johar Turns Storyteller For Her Grandkids, Yash And Roohi, Watch Video)
For the uninitiated ones, Amita Chandekar was into modelling before she was roped in for Kutumb. Post this, she became the talk of the town when Amita participated in Nach Baliye 3 with her boyfriend, Karan Patel. But as soon as the show got over, Karan and Amita’s relationship too ended. Karan went on to say that he was never in a relationship with Amita. This hugely disappointed Amita and their fans that they faked their relationship to be in the reality show. In an interview with the TOI, Karan justified the decision and was quoted as saying, "We were friends and we suited the rules and regulations of 'Nach Baliye.' You could say we were a pair, or you could say we were never a pair. I never proposed to her. There was never a girlfriend-boyfriend tag. We were two people who hung out together quite often."
On February 24, 2010, Amita Chandekar entered the holy matrimony and tied the knot with an NRI, Ritesh Tiwari. As per the reports in 2010, a source confirmed the news to Tellychakkar and said, "The actress is getting married to Ritesh Tiwari who she has been dating for some time now, He is an NRI. The marriage will take place on February 24 in the western suburbs of Mumbai." Amita and Riteish are now happily settled in California and were blessed with a baby doll, Zya on February 4, 2018.
