Deepika Padukone is one of the most talented actresses in Bollywood. The diva is currently pregnant with her first child and is soon going to take maternity leave. For the unversed, Deepika and her husband, Ranveer Singh, will embrace parenthood for the first time after more than five years of marital bliss. Now, many reports have surfaced online that Deepika will no longer be working on her next spy thriller under the YRF banner.
Recently, a Reddit user shared a screengrab of two reports stating that Deepika Padukone will take maternity leave and will not shoot for her upcoming YRF film. The report further stated that in Deepika's absence, Alia Bhatt has shown interest in replacing the former in the project. However, it looks like Alia's gesture didn't go down well with the netizens and they were disappointed with her.

Taking to the post's comment section, many netizens bashed Alia Bhatt and called her out for replacing Deepika Padukone during the latter's maternity leave. A user commented, "Alia is getting everything, DPs ex and movies", another penned, "Cheap cheap cheap. First buy awards and now so dirty pr... Alias formula on how to become superstar." A third comment can be read as "Cant wait to never hear anything about her again. If someone did this to her she would cry so hard."
On February 29, 2024, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh took to their respective IG handles and shared a collaborative post to announce their 'good news'. The couple left their entire fanbase into a meltdown as they revealed that they are going to be parents soon. The photo featured cute drawings of baby stuff, including a bib, shoes, hat, button and clothes. Atop the picture, the couple penned a note and revealed that their baby will arrive in this world in September 2024.

On November 9, 2023, Deepika Padukone shared a collage featuring some of her throwback pictures on her IG stories. However, in one of the pictures, we could see her sharing a candid laugh with Ranbir Kapoor. For the unversed, the photo was from one of the duo's scenes in the film, Ye Jawaani Hai Deewani. Moreover, she added the song, Tera Rasta Chhodoon Na, along with the story. Soon, a netizen shared the screengrab of Deepika's IG story on Reddit and mentioned how the actress dropped a picture with her ex-boyfriend and even added a meaningful song to it.
After Deepika Padukone's IG post started doing rounds on Reddit, netizens were not happy with the same. They expressed their anger at how Deepika has been obsessed with Ranbir Kapoor for years, even after marrying Ranveer Singh. Reacting to the post, one user commented, "How many years does it take to move on really? Especially when you have someone else who’s even more loving?" Another one wrote, "She married Ranveer but she never actually moved on….. this is so embarrassing fr."
During her earlier conversation with Karan Johar on his chat show, Koffee With Karan 7, Alia Bhatt talked about maintaining a good rapport with her husband, Ranbir Kapoor’s exes, Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif. During the rapid-fire round, Karan asked Alia what tag would suit her the best, "How to be best friends with your exes" or "How to be friends with your boyfriend's exes". To this, she mentioned:
“I think I know how to stay friends with my partner’s ex. I am very good friends with his exes. I love them both.”
