Bollywood actress, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has grabbed the limelight as Maharashtra's Nashik district administration has issued a notice to her. If reports are to be believed, then the notice has been issued in connection with the non-payment of land tax for a property she owns in the area. Now, the gorgeous actress has fallen into the trap of legal issues as she failed to fulfil the tax requirement of her expansive property in a hilly area of Mumbai. However, she is yet to comment on the same.
Aishwarya Rai owns an expansive property of around 1 hectare of land in the hilly area of Advadi near Thangaon in Sinnar. An inside source revealed that Aishwarya failed to pay tax for an entire assessment year for this land, despite getting several warnings. Now, the actress is required to pay a sum of Rs. 22,000 as land tax to the authorities for her property. The revenue department has taken this action to fulfil the target of tax collection till the end of March 2023.

Not just Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, notices have been issued to 1200 other property owners for tax arrears. Reportedly, Sinnar district is expected to generate annual revenue of Rs. 1.11 crores from the property owners. However, Rs. 65 lakhs of the entire amount is yet to be recovered. Reportedly, other defaulters include Bindu Vayu Urja Ltd., Chotabhai Jethabhai Patel and Co., L. B. Kunjir Engineer, ITC Maratha Limited, Hotel Leela Venture Limited, Kukreja Developer Corporation, Rama Handicraft, among others.
