Alex, who was first spotted with Meghan at Michael Rubin’s party, is reportedly living with her, and the two are in no mood to hide their feelings for each other. The former Yankees player was once in a serious relationship with actress Jennifer Lopez and was even engaged to her, but the couple called it quits after four years.
Jennifer Lopez first met Alex Rodriguez in 2005 after her then-husband Marc Anthony attended a baseball game at Shea Stadium in Queens, New York. Once Alex revealed that he’d gotten a signed photo of Lopez in the late 90s, which he kept with himself. Years later, Alex and Jennifer bumped into each other at a restaurant.
She stopped him, and they spoke. Alex later texted her and asked her out for dinner, and she agreed. They were soon spotted together at many events. Their red carpet debut at the 2017 Met Gala confirmed their relationship. During a vacation in 2019, he proposed to her, and the couple announced the same through social media.
Alex and Jennifer were all set to tie the knot in 2020, but the pandemic spoiled their plans, and they decided to postpone it. In an interview with Allure magazine, JLO revealed how the pandemic helped her to spend quality time with Alex. Talking about the same, she stated:
“At the start we were all filled with anxiety. We were all in the Twilight Zone like everyone else. We never get to do stuff like that [together]. I was trying to take advantage of the time. We got to work on ourselves. We did therapy. I think it was really helpful for us in our relationship.”
When everyone around the couple thought that the two were all set to get married, rumours of their split made headlines in March 2021. The couple denied the rumours, saying, ‘We are working through some things.’ However, in April 2021, Lopez and Rodriguez officially called off their engagement and announced their split in a joint statement.
Soon, reports of infidelity surfaced as it was reported that Alex cheated on Jennifer with reality TV star Madison LeCroy. While there has been no reported evidence that the two ever hung out, Alex was accused of talking to LeCroy on the phone.
She denied the cheating accusation and told a portal that Alex ‘never physically cheated on his fiancée with me’. LeCroy also claimed that they have "spoken on the phone" and that they "never been physical … never had any kind of anything. Just an acquaintance."
On the other hand, a close friend of JLO revealed that the breakup was bound to happen as persistent trust issues and unresolved personal problems became major issues in their relationship. As per the source:
“She insisted on it. There are too many issues that are unresolved. She has been pretty miserable and didn't think it was in her best interests to stay with Alex."
