Jiya Shankar and Kaaran Dhanak are the newest engaged couple in town, and her fans cannot be any happier. The 31-year-old actress finally found the man she wants to spend the rest of her life with. Introducing her beloved Kaaran to the world, Jiya penned a heartfelt note for him on Instagram. She shared how she found love when she least expected it and recalled going through a lot of testing times before she finally met the one.
Regarding Jiya's lover, Kaaran Dhanak, he is reportedly a businessman based in the US. Not much is known about him except that he had been dating Jiya for a long time until they publicised their romance with stunning engagement photos. Kaaran lives a life away from the spotlight and even has a private Instagram account with about 900 followers. His bio includes "Motu's dad" and a location pin of "ATL".
Jiya Shankar thanked Kaaran for coming to her life and making her feel at home. The Bigg Boss OTT 2 fame revealed that maintaining a long-distance relationship wasn't easy, but they made it work nevertheless. Acknowledging his role and importance in her life, the actress wrote:
"So maybe it is true, you do find love when you least expect it but God really tested my patience here. It wasn't easy but somehow it still was. Every conversation with you even though you were thousands of miles away from me, felt like home. This journey wasn't easy but we chose each other every single day. You showed me the love I waited my whole life for. You made me laugh on my toughest days."
In the engagement post, Jiya shared how tough it was everytime they had to part ways at the airport. She recalled the warm hugs they shared at that time and the heartbreaks they underwent. She called their journey of love her "favourite rom-com" and shared her excitement to spend the rest of her life with him. Flaunting her glistening diamond ring and declaring her love for Kaaran, Jiya Shankar captioned the post as:
"Held me a lil tighter every time at airport goodbyes like your heart was breaking into a thousand pieces. No matter where we were in the world - home was never a place it was always you. My goofball, my bestfriend, my ABCD, life is definitely an adventure with you and it happens to be my favourite rom-com. I cant wait to spend my forever with you and spend the rest of my life loving you the way you've always loved me. I love you Kaaran."
In a February 2026 interview with The Times of India, Jiya shared that she decided to keep her relationship private, but intense speculations surrounding her personal life made her break her silence. By revealing that she was not single anymore, she wanted to put an end to the buzz. Jiya added that she would reveal her partner's identity only after they get engaged. She was quoted as saying:
"I had kept it very private. But when the rumours started spreading, I felt enough was enough because I was tired of it. Every other day, my name was being linked with someone new. So I decided I didn't want that anymore and wanted to distance myself from all of it. That's when I thought I should at least make it clear that I'm no longer single...I plan to reveal my partner's identity only when I get engaged."
