Taylor Frankie Paul got married to Tate Paul in 2016, and the couple remained married till 2022. The former couple shares two kids, a daughter, Indy (born in 2017), and a son, Ocean (born in 2020). While being married, Taylor and Tate agreed upon a lifestyle that allowed intimacy with other couples in their Utah friend group. But it had a few restrictions.
Their marriage came to an end after Taylor admitted to violating their "soft-swinging" arrangement after she hooked up with someone from their friend group when Tate wasn't around. The revelation sent shockwaves through Taylor's MomTok group. In a TikTok video, Taylor spoke about her MomTok scandal and revealed that there had been a "soft swinging" arrangement involving her and her ex-husband with other MomTok couples.
In her livestream, Taylor agreed that she did step out of that agreement and it, in turn, contributed to her divorce from Tate. But she also claimed that there had been more reasons for her divorce and said:
“The divorce is not, like, all because of this huge blow up. It was more because I feel like we had a lot of other issues and then this was the tip of the iceberg. No one is innocent. Everyone has hooked up with everyone in this situation.”
After their divorce, Taylor and Tate maintained a peaceful co-parenting relationship. However, he recently filed for a restraining order against his ex-wife and also filed for sole custody of their children. A source close to Tate further shared that he wants sole custody of their children, Indy and Ocean, and has submitted five exhibits and a declaration in support of his request.
After Taylor Frankie Paul and Tate Paul’s divorce in 2022, she went on to have a relationship with Dakota Mortensen, with whom she shares a son, born in 2024. On the other hand, Tate remarried and had a child with his new wife. On March 16, 2026, it was reported that Taylor and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota, are a part of an open domestic assault investigation. Reports suggest that Taylor and Dakota got involved in a physical altercation at his home during a dispute over his past romance.
After the domestic assault investigation was reported, sources revealed details of the couple’s volatile relationship. A source told TMZ that Taylor was the one who got physical during the fight. The source also revealed that during the altercation, Taylor grabbed Dakota by the throat and face while pulling off his necklace. TMZ also published footage from a 2023 incident in which Paul was seen yelling and throwing a chair at Mortensen. The whole incident reportedly took place in front of their child. In June 2026, a Salt Lake City judge granted Mortensen custody of their son, with up to 8 hours per week of visitation for Paul, supervised by a paid supervisor.
