What happened with 'Dr Al-Hashimi' in the finale of The Pitt Season 2

The Pitt Season 2 Episode 15 featured 'Dr Al-Hashimi' talking about a serious medical issue that could probably jeopardise her role as the head of the emergency department. However, after reviewing her medical records, 'Robby' confirmed that she has a seizure disorder caused by viral meningitis in childhood. While she has been seizure-free for over a year, she experienced two 'absence seizures', which are brief periods when the person 'zones out' for a few seconds, during her shift. One of which occurred earlier when she was reviewing a patient's chart, and another while treating a child.

'Al-Hashimi' tried to manage the situation by arranging to always work alongside another senior doctor. However, 'Robby' rejected her compromise and alleged that her condition made her unfit for the unpredictable nature of emergency medicine. He went as far as to give her an ultimatum to report her condition to the administration before he does it for her. The episode ends with her driving into a car despite being advised not to drive after seizures, ultimately having an emotional breakdown.

'Dr Samira Mohan' says goodbye to Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Centre in the Season 2 finale

'Dr Samira Mohan' said goodbye to Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Centre, and it was quieter than any of us expected. It marked an emotionally significant moment, given her strained relationship with 'Robby' throughout the season. While their earlier interactions were marked by his criticism and dismissive comments, their final conversation brought a bit of softness to their otherwise strained dynamics. Especially when 'Samira' considered the possibility of switching to geriatrics, hinting at a career change. She also shared about her personal struggles, including conflict with her mother, and apologises for letting it affect her work. 'Robby' attempts to be empathetic towards him, but their interaction remains subdued. While her character is alive, her absence in Season 3 leaves her storyline unfinished for viewers, though it is concluded.

The episode ends on a lighter note with a post-credits scene: after a stressful day, 'Santos' and 'Mel' go out for karaoke as planned.
