The movie revolves around mistaken identities, insurance fraud, hidden diamonds and a lot of chaotic misunderstandings. Made by Abhishek Dogra, it is based on the story of a desperate man who believes he has found an ideal shortcut to escape his financial ruin. But, towards the end, viewers are left thinking whether his scheme actually succeeds or loses everything under the weight of his life.
Jeevan Ya Bheema Con?'s plot follows a desperate man's dangerous gamble
Jeevan Ya Bheema Con's story revolves around 'Jeevan Kapoor', played by Arshad Warsi. He is a struggling former restaurant owner whose business got ruined due to the pandemic. Eventually, he gets drowned in debt with loan sharks chasing him all the time. Eventually, he runs out of options to earn and clear his debts.
However, soon things take a turn when he finds out 'Bheema'. The latter is a drunk, petty criminal and his doppelganger. Initially, 'Jeevan' is shocked by their resemblance and later makes a risky plan after 'Bheema's' unexpected death. Making use of the opportunity, 'Jeevan' and his wife, 'Yojna', played by Sanjeeda Shaikh, plan to show 'Bheema's' body as his own.
They thought that 'Jeevan's' fake death would help them secure his massive life insurance payout, getting rid of their financial issues. Initially, the plan seems pitch-perfect. But soon they found that 'Bheema' himself had a complex life and his secrets turned their intricately planned deceit plan into a nightmare.
In fact, they had no clue that 'Bheema' had stolen a valuable stash of diamonds worth crores from a local gangster 'Vinayak' portrayed by Vijay Raaz. Soon, the latter and his eccentric sidekick 'Manu' enters the scene looking for 'Bheema' and their missing diamonds. Therefore, when they saw 'Jeevan,' who looks like the dead man they are looking for, they do not believe he is a different person. Alongside, a suspicious insurance investigator also finds them and threatens to expose him.
Eventually, the film's ending culminates in a chaotic showdown among all the parallel storylines at 'Jeevan's' home. Meanwhile, 'Vinayak' is sure that 'Jeevan' knows about the missing diamonds and begins to search his rooms intensively. Later, the accusations and counter-accusations intensify, and everyone begins hunting for the loot.
At the end, the truth comes out. It is found that 'Bheema' had hidden them in a strange, unexpected place, causing further chaos. However, the biggest twist comes when 'Jeeevan's' grand plan fails. But instead of walking away from the insurance money and diamonds, the truth about their plan is revealed to everyone. So, the insurance collectors, the gangster, and all the other misunderstandings ensure that the plan goes out of control.
In turn, 'Jeevan' and 'Yojana' are left where it all began, caught in a mess of problems with no shortcut to finding their way out. However, the story ends on a humorous note, which is worth watching.

Abhishek Dogra's directorial Jeevan Ya Bheema Con? features Arshad Warsi in dual roles as 'Jeevan' and 'Bheema'. So, he carries the majority of the film on his shoulders, where his comic timing and role-swapping play a significant part. The film also stars Sanjeeda Shaikh, Vijay Raaz, Brijendra Kala, Pooja Chopra, and late actor Atul Parchure, whose last stint made fans emotional.
