Following her two major heartbreaks, she met Rye Dag in 2018 at a mutual friend's wedding. Helena further added that this new phase of her life is somewhat like an 'unexpected magic.' The couple has been together for eight years now.
They reportedly moved in 2021 and currently live together in London, surrounded by their furbabies and rabbits. Speaking of marriage, there's no confirmation of the same. However, the actress once hinted at the fact that marriage is not a necessity for her.

Notably, Helena is 60 years old, while Rye is 22 years younger than her, aged 38. Speaking about her beau, whom she thinks is 'an old soul in a young body', Helena shared:
“There are people I’ve been involved with who aren’t necessarily their age, maturity wise, whereas [Holmboe] is ageless. His eyesight is going, so we say I’m siphoning off his youth at night.”

For the unversed, Helena Bonham Carter was previously in a long-term relationship with Kenneth Branagh for five years, from 1994 to 1999. When Kenneth's relationship with Helena began, he was married to Emma Thompson. After breaking up with him, the actress released a statement, revealing that no party was involved and that it was a mutual breakup. Following this, Helena went on to have a relationship with Tim Burton for several years. The couple fell in love and worked together on several projects.
