The internet went crazy after Jackky confessed that his relationship with his legally married wife is a situationship. This left many in shock. For the unversed, situationship is Gen-Z's tag for another kind of relationship, with no strings attached, no bf-gf titles, no accountability or questions.
Jackky's remark has left many in shock, as situationship is something that is not considered nice to be in, as one partner often gets too committed, and another doesn't care. Amidst the internet discussing Jackky's situationship remark, Rakul Preet Singh's 2025 interview surfaced, in which she talked about her relationship, staged from situationship to marriage.
In 2025, Rakul Preet Singh sat with Humans of Bombay and shared her love story with them. She confessed that there were a lot of situationship before they started dating officially. So, in a world where most situationships end in heartbreaks, for Rakul, it ended up in marriage.
Rakul revealed that for the first five months, she had no idea what they were, and there were a lot of situationship. The actress stated that they used to hang out together with their group of friends, and they had a lot of mutual admiration, but Jackky wasn't proposing and was not even giving a name to the relationship. Rakul was quoted as saying:
"There was a lot of situationship as they were hanging every day. Every single day for like five months before I knew that I can call him my boyfriend. I was like yaar yeh roj hang karta hain iske dost aate hai mere dost aate hai. Hum log sab roj chill karte hai. Atleast five times a week, we are doing this, we are laughing, we are having meals. So it became like a community. But what is happening, you are not proposed to me, and he has not said that this is a relationship. And I am very fattu to say it. So, I was like is he serious what is happening."
So, she would often tell his friends and her friends that he is not proposing. Rakul then revealed that after five months, his sister told him not to call his friends due to the pandemic. But Jacky told his sister that Rakul was his girlfriend and not a friend. Rakul revealed the situation and said:
"There is so much time we have consumed, so I would tell his friends, ki ladka bol nahi raha hai kuch, I would tell my friends, ki yeh kuch bol nahi raha hai. Finally, after five months his sister told him thoda friends ka aana jaana kam kar do because it is not a correct time, it's not safe. So, he told her Rakul is not my friend she is my girlfreind, and he narrated this incident to me, Honey di was saying this so I said Rakul is my girlfriend, I said, 'Am I, Oh wow.' Thanks to her I know finally since five months I am trying to get this out of your mouth."
Recently, in an interview on the YouTube channel Zingabad, Jackky Bhagnani spoke about his relationship with Rakul Preet Singh. When the interviewer asked Jackky what he thought about situationships and Gen Z's attraction to them. Jackky shared that he understands where they are coming from, as they do not have any bondages.
