Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleLindsay Clancy's case has long grabbed worldwide attention. The Massachusetts mom was charged with three counts of first-degree murder for allegedly killing her three kids. Her defense team maintained that she had severe postpartum psychosis. The trial began three years after the infamous case took place in 2023. After several weeks of testimony, a mistrial was declared in Lindsay Clancy's case earlier this month.
This came after the jury, consisting of nine women and three men, told Judge William Sullivan that after seven days of deliberation, they could not reach a unanimous decision. When 11 jurors voted that Clancy was not guilty on the grounds of insanity, one juror held out, which deadlocked the jury and led the judge to declare a mistrial in Lindsay Clancy's case.
Nancy Mace has long been commenting on Lindsay Clancy's case since the beginning of the trial and even called her a 'monster'. Recently, in a conversation with TMZ, Nancy Mace said that she feels Lindsay Clancy should face the death penalty, and it should be a public execution, which should be out there as a 'warning'. Nancy Mace told TMZ, 'Her children are dead; she should be dead too.' According to Nancy Mace, Clancy 'deserves' nothing less than that. Nancy Mace's exact words were:
"Her children are dead, she should be dead too. She should get the death penalty. It should be public, it should be a public execution. It could be by firearm, it could electric chair, I don’t really care. It would serve as a warning to women everywhere [that] you don’t kill your kids.”
Following the mistrial declaration, Lindsay's attorney, Kevin Reddington, appealed to President Donald Trump and asked him to grant his client a presidential pardon. Nancy Mace further criticized Kevin Reddigton's move of asking the President to grant Lindsay Clancy a pardon.
The President mentioned that it was a state matter and, for the same reason, it was outside his federal pardon authority. Speaking about the same, Nancy Mace recently used a slur, as reported by TMZ. This is not the first time that Nancy Mace has made comments on Lindsay Clancy's case. In a post on X (Twitter), Nancy called Lindsay a 'monster' and stated that the mom of three deserved nothing but the death penalty.
A few days ago, while appearing on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Nancy Mace, who is a mother of two, said that if postpartum mental illness comes with a 'get-out-of-jail-free' card after murdering a child, then by that logic everyone who is diagnosed with the same should lose custody of their children. According to her, the murders of the kids couldn't be blamed on anyone or anything. She said:
“I believe that she was experiencing a complete postpartum psychosis. I know women who have experienced actual tearing in childbirth that causes extreme psychosis in women, so we have to be having these conversations. Is it an excuse for her to kill her children? Absolutely not.”
For the unversed, Lindsay Clancy allegedly strangled her three kids to death when her then-husband, Patrick Clancy, was out of their home. Lindsay was suffering from postpartum issues, and she also sought help for the same and was reportedly on medication.
Lindsay reportedly told her then-husband and mom about her thoughts about harming the children and also about hearing a man's voice who warned her about killing her kids. During the trial, expert medical witnesses revealed that during the time she strangled her kids to death, she lost touch with reality and was allegedly going through an acute psychosis.
