This is because of the fact that fans observed that Jake was not involved in the everyday parenting and logistics duties as a father. Now, Millie Bobby Brown has addressed the issue herself, and what she said has left the internet divided. She shared that women are being empowered, girls are being empowered, so what is the fuss, if she is able to carry her own things. She criticised people who slammed her husband and shared:
"And I'm like: 'Because I'm three miles ahead! I have been planning this all night!' We are all about empowering girls, and like: 'You've got it, you don't need a man!' But then, when I'm like: 'Ok, I can carry my own things,' people are like: 'Where's your husband?!' And I'm like… I can also do it on my own."
Millie Bobby Brown opined that if she did not ask for help from anyone, it should not concern anyone. For Millie, it seemed to be a normal thing to pick up her own bag and not rely on her husband. She revealed liking the idea of chivalry and that she does not want it to be dead. She wants it to be like a degree of politeness and catering to your lady at the same time. In her words:
"Hey, guys, I really appreciate it, but if I needed help, I'd ask for it.' The first person I'd be asking? You've guessed it, my husband. Nobody knows my husband. My husband is the most polite, sweet, like, will do anything for me. But he also knows I'm capable. but at the same time… Don't treat me like I'm broken or dainty."
Millie Bobby Brown once tried to get inside a building alone with her baby, netizens were angry as Jake had not helped. He was seen standing at one side and telling his wife to walk ahead of him. She had it with the photographers telling her what to do and trying to catch glimpses of her child. Millie had even warned one of the paps to be away from her and in a post, when the video went viral, it read:
"At the ‘Stranger Things’ season 5 screening in London last night, Millie called out photographers who were telling her to smile, yelling back, “Smile? You smile!” Earlier in the day, upon her arrival to her hotel, Millie had shielded her newborn from paparazzi who had assembled at the entrance. A fan caught the interaction on video and posted it with music, so it’s hard to make out what she said, but it seems Millie told them to move while keeping her baby away from the cameras."
Well, angry netizens reportedly spoke on TikTok earlier about Millie Brown defending her husband. They shared that it was not about being incapable but about helping. A user had shared that it was never about how a woman cannot do things independently, but it is the load of carrying the family/holding down the fort is put on one.
