Himanshu Jangra Fired From Starvik, Founder Vivek Vishwakarma Says, 'It Was A Business Decision'

The Rs. 370 biryani controversy is creating headlines everywhere. The issue started at a show of stand-up comedian, Pranit More, organised in Gurugram. The remarks shared by Starvik Design employee, Himanshu Jangra, led to a lot of debate on social media platforms. Following the controversy, Himanshu was fired by his company. As per a new update, one of the founders of Starvik, Vivek Vishwakarma, has now shared the circumstances that led to Himanshu’s firing. Keep reading to know more!

Vivek Vishwakarma claims that Himanshu Jangra had a different personality at the office

Vivek Vishwakarma recently opened up about the reasons why Himanshu Jangra was fired from the job. Vivek described Himanshu as a good employee in an interview, adding that he had a different personality inside the office. Vivek initially tried to avoid the matter since it happened outside the workplace, and since he was busy with his work, he did not pay attention to the controversy.

When things took a different turn with extreme backlash, Vivek watched the video. Shortly after the clip went viral, the company became a target of the public on social media, leading to a lot of negative reactions. Some clients decided to end their association with the company, and the negative reactions started linking things to a “rapist mindset.” Vivek continued by saying:

“I thought of answering everyone because I was getting lot of bad reviews and comments on our company pages. So for that reason I had to respond. We are a design and marketing company, so the clients come through social media and these channels and those impressions were getting hampered. Bad comments were all over our Instagram.”

Vivek Vishwakarma described the firing as a “business decision” for the company

Vivek Vishwakarma referred to the controversy by saying that it was impacting a lot of things for the brand. Furthermore, the posts were flooded with thousands of comments, and Himanshu Jangra discontinued coming to the office two days before they decided to fire him. Vivek explained the decision by saying:

“It was a business decision for my brand.”

Vivek also addressed Pranit More’s silence over the matter. Vivek said that Pranit should have taken the first step to avoid the controversy by not letting Himanshu continue speaking. Vivek clarified that he was still not supporting Himanshu and described the vibe of Pranit’s show as “the Ashlil show.” Vivek continued and said:

“For a 22-year-old coming from a small town in Haryana and seeing all thoset things, and he was already trying to be an influencer on social media, I think it amplified there and Pranit also boosted him. He should have cut him then and there.”

Vivek Vishwakarma confirmed that Himanshu Jangra has been fired

On June 9, 2026, a video was shared through the official Instagram handle of Starvik, where Vivek Vishwakarma confirmed that they have fired Himanshu Jangra. He said that he has watched the videos, adding that everything that he saw was offensive and that they are something that he does not agree. Vivek said that he spoke to the employees, including the females, but failed to find any complaint against Himanshu. However, Vivek pointed out that although the incident happened outside the office, it has impacted the brand, and he needs to take care of the same. Referring to Himanshu’s actions, Vivek said:

“A person can be wrong. A person can make a terrible mistake. A person should face consequences. But I hope we never become a society that believes people cannot learn, reflect, apologise, or change. Social media trolling is not a joke, and that too for a 22-year-old mind. His future from here will already carry the consequences of this moment for a long time. Again, that does not make the statements right. My hope is that Himanshu reflects on this chapter of his life. My hope is that he learns from it.”
