Umesh Kamat was born on December 12, 1978. He is an actor and model who mainly works in Marathi-language regional films, television series, plays, and TV commercials. It is worth noting that Umesh has also received the prestigious Maharashtra State Film Awards for his film, Samar - Ek Sangharsh. He was also named one of the Most Desirable Men of Maharashtra by The Times of India in 2017 and 2018.
Having worked in a number of daily soaps, Umesh has established himself as a household name and a star actor of Marathi television. Some of his most noteworthy roles include ‘Adinath Shastri' from Asambhav and ‘Nishad’ from Shubham Karoti. However, the role that has been ingrained in viewers to date is ‘Adv. During an interview with HT, Priya Bapat and Umesh Kamat revealed that they met each other for the first time during the screening of Chandrakant Kulkarni's Bhet, which was released in 2002. Following this, they met again on the last date of the shoot of Abhalmaya. With Priya being a huge fan of her now-husband at the time, they exchanged numbers, though they didn't start talking until a few years later, when they met again through a mutual friend. According to Umesh, Priya pretended to interview him for a college project at Worli Sea Face in Mumbai, but even though she had a notebook, she wasn't writing anything. That is when Umesh got the hint, and after they began chatting, the duo would speak all night on the phone.
Priya Bapat has often talked about what an extremely calm and composed person her husband, Umesh Kamat, is. According to her, he is also extremely understanding and supportive. This is because he never enforces any decision or opinion on her and instead pushes her to make the right decisions. These are what make Umesh stand out.
Priya had also said that Umesh, who is 8 years older than her, is not expressive at all. So whenever the actor ends up feeling low and not okay, there is no way to find out. The behaviour did not stop there and followed her off set when he could continue messaging her, ask her out to breakfast and dinner, and even invited her to join him so he could teach her how to swim. Feeling super uncomfortable with this, Priya would call Umesh every night from her hotel room to confide in him about the distress she was facing. This prompted Umesh to fly from Mumbai to Bhopal. He went straight to their production set and stayed beside his wife for three days.
