In an interview with a news agency, ANI, Ketan Agarwal's grieving mother talked about Siya Goyal and her lover, Chetan Chaudhary. She revealed that she treated Siya as her daughter-in-law, but she betrayed them and had lied a lot. She stated that when she visited their home, she acted nice, but they had no idea she had made a plan to kill their son. The mother revealed that she had told Siya that alcohol is not allowed in their home, yet she used to drink. She said:
"Aaj mera beta chala gaya hai. Uski zimmedar Siya hai aur uska boyfriend. Maine Siya ko bahu ke jaisa mana tha aur usne bahut bada dhokha diya hai aur bahut jhooth bola hai. Bahut jada jhooth bola hai. 2-3 baar ghar aayi, ek baar puja pe aayi thi, 2-3 baar dinner par bhi aayi. Mai ne frankly bol diya tha ki humare yaha alcohal nahi chlta hai toh bhi vo drink karti. Yeh baat humse chupayi gayi hai."
The grieving mother demanded strict punishment for Siya and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, who is 22 years old. She added that she even told Siya that she won't allow her to party. Ketan's father, Vishal Agarwal, questioned why Siya didn't deny the marriage proposal if she was in love with someone else. He was quoted as saying:
"If she didn't want to get married, she could have simply refused. We would have cancelled the wedding immediately. Why did they take such a drastic step? What kind of mindset is this? Their mindset is so cruel that someone's 26-year-old son could be killed. Society needs to take note of such a cruel mindset. Where does this ideology come from, their family, their upbringing?"
Currently, Siya and her lover, Chetan, were arrested for plotting the sinister plan and for killing Ketan Agarwal. For those who don't know, Ketan is the son of real estate businessman, Vishal Agarwal. Ketan worked as a director in his family-run business. He was with his fiancee, Siya, and they visited Lohagad Fort, which was 50 km away from Pune, to celebrate her birthday.
Later, Siya called the police and informed them about her fiance's death and claimed that he slipped during their trek and fell 400 feet into a gorge while trying to take photographs. His body was recovered, and later, a case of accidental death was registered, but the family wasn't convinced about the claims. During the investigation, the police found out how Siya planned the whole death trap for Ketan.
In an interaction, Ketan's father claimed that it was Siya's aunt and uncle who pushed her for the marriage despite knowing about her alleged affair with Chetan. He revealed that they have known the girl's family for 35 years. They claimed that if Siya didn't want to get married, she could simply refuse it. She was quoted as saying:
"We have known the girl's family for 35 years. How could they do this to us? Siya's uncle and aunt pushed for the match despite knowing about her affair. If she didn't want to get married, she could have simply refused. We would have cancelled the wedding immediately. Why did they take such a drastic step? What kind of mindset is this? Their mindset is so cruel that someone's 26-year-old son could be killed. Society needs to take note of such a cruel mindset. Where does this ideology come from - their family, their upbringing?"
