Meet Ketan Agarwal, The 26-Year-Old Whose Fiancee, Siya Goyal Pushed Him Off Cliff With Lover's Help

After last year's shocking Raja Raghuvanshi honeymoon murder case, which allegedly involved a murder-for-hire plot orchestrated by his wife Sonam Raghuvanshi and her lover, the country has been gripped by another chilling case. Ketan Agarwal, a 26-year-old real estate executive from Pune, allegedly died after being pushed into a gorge at Lohagad Fort near Lonavala by his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her alleged boyfriend, Chetan Chaudhary

The case has left many astonished, especially given that the pair appeared madly in love on social media and were apparently planning a spectacular wedding later this year.

Who was Ketan Agarwal?

Ketan was based in Pune and served as the Director and Chief Marketing Officer of his family-owned real estate firm, Success Group. His professional profile on LinkedIn described him as an intellectually successful person. He held a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Symbiosis University and a Master’s degree in Science of Entrepreneurship from the famed Babson F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business in the United States.

Ketan was dedicated to the creativity and sustainability of his business and was concentrating on projects that matched economic success with environmental responsibility. He was ambitious, joyful, and fully involved in both his profession and his personal life, according to his friends and relatives.

A fairytale romance that ended in tragedy

From the outside, Ketan (26) and Siya Goyal (20) appeared to be the perfect couple. The duo got engaged in a grand celebration in February 2026 and were all set to get married in November 2026 in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The families had booked a palace in Jaipur for their grand wedding for Rs. 17 crore. They even arranged two private planes to transport guests, according to sources. Their social media feeds were loaded with romantic gestures, surprise gifts, loving messages, and wedding countdowns. In reality, just weeks before Ketan died, Siya had been posting pictures and videos of the two dancing together, receiving flowers, and marking romantic milestones.

What happened at Lohagad Fort?

Ketan and Siya were on a trip to Lohagad Fort near Pune, reportedly ahead of her birthday celebrations. While the police initially believed that Ketan had accidentally slipped while taking photographs near the edge of the fort, investigators soon became suspicious after noticing inconsistencies in her account and Siya's unusual lack of grief following Ketan's death.

Upon digging further, the investigators uncovered a third person in the case: Chetan Chaudhary, a 22-year-old businessman who developed feelings for Siya. Authorities allege that Siya and Chetan exchanged more than 2,000 phone calls over the past several months while maintaining a secret relationship. Police claim the pair viewed Ketan as an obstacle and conspired to eliminate him before the wedding. Authorities allege that Siya lured Ketan to the fort while Chetan secretly followed them, where they pushed Ketan into a deep gorge, causing his death. 

Why did Siya conspire to kill Ketan, instead of coming clean about Chetan's relationship?

Siya allegedly told investigators that she felt trapped between her family's expectations and her relationship with Chetan Chaudhary. Police claim she was reluctant to call off her engagement to Ketan because she feared it would bring embarrassment and social stigma to her family, who have known the Agarwals for more than three decades. She reportedly believed her relatives would never approve of her relationship with Chetan, allegedly because of concerns about his financial status and profession.

When questioned about why she didn't simply leave with Chetan, Siya allegedly told police that eloping or breaking off the engagement would have created a major backlash within the family. Investigators believe that instead of confronting the situation, Siya and Chetan allegedly decided to eliminate Ketan and continue their relationship without facing opposition from their families.

Siya's alleged failed attempts before the murder

The case became even more disturbing when investigators claimed there had been previous attempts on Ketan's life. According to police, an earlier incident occurred on June 14 at the same fort, when Siya allegedly pushed Ketan toward the edge. He reportedly managed to save himself by grabbing onto nearby vegetation. Investigators allege she then created a distraction by claiming she had spotted a snake.

Both Siya and Chetan have since been arrested and charged with murder and criminal conspiracy. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to examine the events leading up to Ketan's death.
