In an interview with Women’s Wear Daily, Hailey revealed that she is exploring ‘smart aging’ through her beauty brand, Rhode. She spoke about her skincare venture and said she takes a different approach to anti-aging skincare. Revealing why she hates the term anti-aging, Hailey said:
“I hate saying anti-aging because I’m like, we’re all aging, so let’s not be anti about it. Let’s just support ourselves and support our skin.”
In the same conversation with Women’s Wear Daily, Hailey spoke about experiencing premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) after the birth of her son, Jack Blues. The condition brought on emotional symptoms that turned intense over time. Speaking about the same, Hailey shared:
“After I had my son, I struggled with [PMDD] a bit, and there’s just not a lot of conversation or research around it. Conversation, for me personally, makes me feel less alone. When we can identify with each other and have conversations relating to each other and [talk] about the things we’re dealing with and struggling with, I do think it makes it feel like less of a lonely journey."
Hailey revealed that after becoming a mom, her interest in women’s overall health deepened as she understood the physical and emotional changes a woman undergoes during childbirth. Hailey struggled with PMDD postpartum and was left alone. Hailey said her work, relationship, and social life were disrupted.

The Rhode founder shared that after her first experience, she became confident about the whole process. She noted that many things changed after she embraced motherhood. Speaking about the same, she said:
"I don’t think there’s anything someone can tell you about it that will ever, ever, ever prepare you until you do it yourself. But I feel much more prepared to do it again, as opposed to how not prepared I felt doing it for the first time.”
