Ram Kapoor had a few intimate scenes with actress Sakshi Tanwar in the show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. Though it was one of the most sensationalised scenes during that time in Indian television, the actor thought of telling his wife, Gautami, about it. As a result, Gautami was taken aback and banged the phone on her husband.
Years later, in an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Gautami recalled what exactly transpired when her husband, Ram, called her to tell her about the intimate scene in the show. Speaking about the same, Gautami revealed:
“I got the call at 2.30 am. I was a mother who was breastfeeding at that time. So when I got the call at 2.30-3 am saying that, 'Listen baby, this is what has happened', my first reaction was I kept the phone on Ram. I was like, ‘What?’ I kept the phone on Ram. I didn’t even want to think further.”
In the same conversation, Gautami reflected on her actions and thought whether she was right in banging her phone on Ram. Elaborating on the same, she shared:
“I took that time to really reflect on whether it was right for me to bang the phone. Because, see, he was working for a relentless number of hours, day in and day out. There were days when he wouldn't come home, 24 hours, 48 hours. The workload used to be so much on television. It gave me time to reflect on what I am doing.”
In the latest episode of Lock Upp 2, Shreya Kalra publicly accused her co-contestant Ram Kapoor of crossing personal boundaries. She vented her frustration to Shilpa Shinde in the locker room about the 52-year-old Ram kissing her on the forehead and later on her cheeks after he won a task. Shreya Kalra claimed that Ram has no sense of boundaries and always crosses the line when it comes to skinship. She even stated that even her father doesn't kiss her that often.
Soon after Shreya Kalra’s comment on Ram Kapoor, his wife, Gautami, came to his rescue. Gautami shared that she initially thought of not passing any remark on the show and people's dynamics. But she couldn't hold herself back as people started targeting Ram Kapoor. Gautami rejected all the labels people are calling Ram, said that one should hold the judgments, that these are edited episodes, and that he has a lot of love in his heart.
