The star running back, 30, and his wife, Olivia Culpo, 34, are expecting their second child, adding another exciting chapter to their love story.
The 49ers had a tremendous win over the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night, September 10, 2026 (ET), in Melbourne, Australia. The historic victory has once again shifted attention to McCaffrey's personal life as he and Culpo prepare for the next chapter of their growing family.
Culpo announced the couple's second pregnancy in May 2026, sharing the news in a series of sweet family photos. The announcement came on her 34th birthday and featured McCaffrey, their daughter Colette Annalise, and their dog, Oliver Sprinkles. Sonogram images were also included in the shoot. The couple wrote in their joint announcement, "Best birthday gift [red heart emoji] Baby #2."
The news came less than a year after they welcomed their first child. Culpo and McCaffrey became parents to Colette in July 2025 and have since offered fans glimpses of their life as a family of three.
Recently, Culpo shared some snapshots from their summer, including moments with McCaffrey and Colette, family time at home, and a glimpse of their life around 49ers training camp. She summed up the season of change with a simple caption: "Summer '26 with our growing lil family."
McCaffrey has also spoken candidly about how fatherhood has changed his outlook on life. Speaking to PEOPLE last year, when Colette was about five months old, the NFL star said he was "fully embracing fatherhood" and that seeing his wife and daughter before games served as a “quick reminder of why you’re doing it.”
He also said having Colette in the stands meant a great deal to him, even though she may not remember those early moments. For McCaffrey, simply having his daughter there while he played was something he deeply cherished.
In the couple's case, their friends played cupid and introduced them, and that's all it took. Culpo, who previously dated Nick Jonas and had a painful breakup, admitted later that she was initially hesitant about the introduction. However, her reservations quickly faded after getting to know the NFL star.
The pair started dating in 2019, and their relationship grew stronger with time. In 2023, McCaffrey finally proposed to Culpo during a romantic getaway to Utah, a moment that she said was a thrill of a lifetime. They allegedly started planning their big day almost immediately after the engagement.
