He recently took to social media to announce the birth of his first child with his longtime partner, Charlotte Kemp Muhl.
Sean shared the happy news by posting a photo of Charlotte holding their baby. While fans could not be more happier for the couple, many have become curious to learn about Sean’s partner, Charlotte.
According to reports, Charlotte Kemp Muhl was born on August 17, 1987, in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. She is an American musician, model, and filmmaker. Charlotte is widely recognized as one half of the indie rock duo called The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger, which she formed alongside Sean Lennon back in 2008.
Coming to her work as a model, Charlotte’s face has been seen in major campaigns for brands like Maybelline, Tommy Hilfiger, Dolce & Gabbana, and Dior, among others. She has even worked for Jennifer Lopez’s brand J.Lo. Over the years, Charlotte has successfully established herself in the fashion industry from a young age.
Charlotte has previously revealed that she uses the funds she earned from her modeling career to produce her music. Alongside her boyfriend, Sean, she founded the record company Chimera Music. Through the record label, the duo supports experimental and avant-garde artists. During an interview, Charlotte opened up about the thought process behind the name of the label. She explained:
“The word Chimera means a mythological creature, or half animal, half human. We named our record label Chimera to represent how we are a small group of different people who have diverse talents and personalities, but work together like one beast with many heads.”
In 2017, she founded a band called Uni, which includes vocalist Jack James and guitarist David Strange. In 2024, Charlotte served as the bassist in St. Vincent’s touring live band to support the release of her seventh album, All Born Screaming.
As an actress and producer, Charlotte is known for her work in The Dead Don't Die, Zombeavers, and Schrodinger’s Cat. Coming to her personal life, Charlotte has been in a relationship with Sean since 2007. The duo reportedly met each other 2 years before they began dating, at the Coachella Valley and Arts Festival in 2005. Sean has previously stated that he found out how musically talented his girlfriend is only a year after the two began dating.
Sean announced the birth of his baby boy with his partner, Charlotte, by sharing photos of their family of three on social media. In the caption of the post, he wrote:
“Okay so…Charlotte and I would like to announce that we have indeed created a Human Bean! His name is Aurelius! Thank you!”
In another photo that Sean shared, it showed him holding Aurelius, who was wrapped in a white blanket. A third photo featured Charlotte holding their son in a hospital bed. He captioned the latter, “Baby Momma!”
Charlotte also shared several photos from their early days of parenthood. In the snaps, she could be seen carrying Aurelius in a baby harness while walking in the water, holding a small crab, and looking after the baby when he was sleeping. She wrote about sleep deprivation that has followed since her baby was born and asked her followers for burping technique tips. Her caption read:
“We made a human! I'm convinced DNA is agentic alien quaternary code. The sleep deprivation only adds to the surrealism…Burping technique tips welcome. Been playing him Aphex Twin and Stravinsky. Meconium is crazy.”
