Every football fan from all over the world can feel the football craze pumping just hours ahead of a historic showdown between Argentina and Spain at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final. And this time, the final promises to be unlike anything you have seen before, as FIFA is introducing its first-ever Super Bowl-style halftime show.

The final match of the tournament, set to ake place on July 19, 2026, at New York New Jersey Stadium (MetLife Stadium) will feature an 11-minute musical extravaganza packed with global superstars, alongside a star-studded closing ceremony before kickoff.

From Shakira and Madonna to Justin Bieber and BTS, here's everything fans need to know.

Who is performing at the FIFA World Cup halftime show and the closing ceremony?

For the first time, FIFA is bringing together some of the biggest names in global music. Inspired by the Super Bowl format, the 11-minute spectacle is expected to entertain more than 80,000 fans in attendance and billions watching worldwide, making it one of the most ambitious entertainment productions ever staged at a football match.

Headlining the first-ever FIFA World Cup halftime show will be Shakira, Madonna, Justin Bieber, and South Korean sensation BTS. The superstars will be joined by Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Burna Boy, whose collaboration with Shakira in Dai Dai has taken over the world one of the tournament's official anthems.

But that's not all! The show will also feature acclaimed names like Gustavo Dudamel, the New York Philharmonic, the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, and New York's PS22 Chorus performing alongside members of Coldplay.

And we're not done yet. For the younger fans, the show will have beloved characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets, including 'Kermit the Frog' and 'Miss Piggy'. Ghetto Kids and singer Emmanuel Kelly round out the diverse lineup.

For the uninitiated, it is none other than Chris Martin, the frontman of Coldplay, who is in charge of curating the halftime show that FIFA president, Gianni Infantino called “a show befitting the biggest sporting event in the world” in a statement last year. The show will reportedly be produced in partnership with Global Citizen, Live Nation, and Done + Dusted.

Fans are also about to witness a star-studded closing ceremony that will celebrate the glorious World Cup journey of all 48 nations that participated this year. The pre-match festivities, produced in collaboration with Balich Wonder Studio, will reportedly feature performances from Post Malone, Nicole Scherzinger, Robbie Williams, Laura Pausini, and internet personality IShowSpeed.

Academy Award winner Tom Cruise is scheduled to make a special appearance, and Jennifer Hudson will perform the U.S. national anthem before the match begins.

How long will be the FIFA World Cup halftime show, where to watch it?

While many fans have been worried about elaborate performances in the halftime show like the Super Bowl, let us assure you that it won't be the same in this case. FIFA has opted for a concise 11-minute production designed to avoid disrupting the flow of the match. Each headlining artist is expected to perform a brief medley lasting around two minutes to ensure the whole program is contained within the allotted window.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 final between Argentina and Spain kicks off at 3 p.m. ET on July 19, which is 12:30 a.m. IST on July 20. The halftime show is expected to begin after the first 45 minutes of play, at approximately 1:15 a.m. IST, and will run for about 11 minutes before the second half resumes.

Now, coming to the question that most of you might be wondering: how much are Shakira, Madonna, and BTS going to earn from performing at FIFA's biggest-ever halftime spectacle? Interestingly, the answer to this is zero. None of them is going to earn a single dollar.
