Born on October 6, 1946, veteran actor, Vinod Khanna belonged to a business-class family. Vinod had made his big debut in 1968 with the movie, Man Ka Meet and won everyone's heart. The late actor used to live in our hearts rent-free, courtesy of his breakthrough performances in his films. However, he had left the film industry at the peak of his career and moved to the USA to follow his spiritual journey.
Over the years, Vinod Khanna has worked in many movies, and he starred opposite almost all the leading actresses of his time. He worked with Dimple Kapadia in many films, including Insaaf, Aakhri Adaalat, Batwara, Khoon Ka Karz, Lekin, and others. However, their film, Prem Dharm took a long time to make, and yet failed to see its theatrical release. And later, it was renamed as Maarg and was released directly on home video in the year 1992.

As per multiple media reports, after spending some time in Bhagawan Rajneesh’s ashram, when Vinod Khanna came back to Bollywood, he used to work day and night. Meanwhile, filmmaker, Mahesh Bhatt had signed Vinod Khanna opposite Dimple Kapadia in the movie, Prem Dharm. When you are part of the glamour world, it goes without saying that you would become a part of the gossip stories. One of the most scandalous stories from the golden days of Vinod Khanna is his intimate bedroom scene with actress, Dimple Kapadia during the shoot of the film.
It had so happened that in one of the scenes, Vinod was supposed to kiss Dimple and hug her, before finally falling asleep. However, Vinod was too tired as he was busy shooting day and night, and he arrived late on the sets of the film. In a dim-lighted room full of crew members, Mahesh started the camera by saying ‘action’ and Vinod followed his lead. The actor gave a few kisses to Dimple and later hugged her, but Mahesh decided to take one more shot for a long duration to get the feel of the intensity of the scene.

Therefore, Mahesh shifted his base and shooting equipment at a distance, and shouted ‘action’ a bit louder than the last time, after which Vinod started kissing Dimple. The moment he hugged her, Mahesh asked for a cut. However, due to the distance, his voice failed to reach Vinod's ears, who kept hugging and kissing her again. However, Dimple was in utter shock as she couldn't comprehend what was going on. She was scared and asked for help from the director, but Vinod continued his act and he lost control.
Well not just Dimple, even Mahesh was in a state of shock after whatever happened. He asked some of his assistants to rush into the sets and shout ‘Cut’. As soon as Vinod heard the voice, he released Dimple. The actress started crying and rushed to the make-up room, after being a victim of Vinod's inhuman act. Later, Mahesh confronted Vinod and asked him to apologise to Dimple and convince her that he was too drunk. Moreover, he had admitted that he lost his control as he was shooting such intimate scenes after a long break.
On April 27, 2017, Vinod Khanna had passed away as he was getting treated for bladder cancer.
