Bollywood's superstar, Salman Khan is currently the most eligible bachelor in Tinseltown. Over the years, he has proved that he is a true gentleman, courtesy of his humble nature and sweet gestures. While the superstar is still unmarried, he has often been associated with many Bollywood actresses including Aishwarya Rai, Katrina Kaif, Somy Ali and others.
However, not many know that Salman Khan was once in a relationship with Shilpa Shetty, and rumours about their love life made a lot of noise back then. If reports are to be believed, Shilpa and Salman dated each other when they worked together in some films in the late 90s and early 2000s. However, Shilpa has, time and again, shut down the rumours and clarified that she and Salman never dated each other.

During one of the episodes of the show, Dus Ka Dum, when Farah Khan and Shilpa Shetty made an appearance, Salman Khan revealed how he once planned to take Shilpa out for dinner. Talking about the same, he shared how the actress' father, Surendra Shetty, changed the plans for the night. He was heard saying:
“We decided to go out for dinner. She lived in Chembur at the time, so I went there to pick her up. I parked my car, and she came down. I looked up, and I noticed a man, 6ft 2inch, wearing a lungi standing on the balcony. It was her father. I got a little scared. I greeted him saying, ‘Hello sir, how are you?’ He says, ‘I’m fine’ with a full ‘tashan’ look. ‘You bring her back by 12,’ he said. I said, ‘It's already 11:30'.”
Salman further added that since they had 30 minutes to spend together, he noticed a glass in Shilpa's father's hand and asked if he could join him for a drink. Soon, they started talking to each other while Shilpa went to bed. Mentioning that he left their house at 5.30 in the morning, Salman said:
“I went up. I came up, we started speaking. I was having fun. She went to take a nap. I left their house at 5:30 in the morning.”

Salman Khan had grown very fond of Shilpa Shetty’s father, Surendra Shetty, over the years. When the actress' father passed away in 2016, and Salman got to know about it, he immediately rushed to Shilpa's house. Recalling the heartbreaking scene, once in a media interaction, Shilpa shared how Salman broke down at the bar where he used to drink at and said:
“I remember, he would come to my house even at midnight sometimes, and by that time I’d already be asleep. Then Salman and my dad would sit down and drink a few pegs together. I remember, when my dad passed away, Salman came home, went straight to the bar table, laid his head down on it and cried.”
Shilpa Shetty Kundra tied the knot with businessman, Raj Kundra in 2009 and started her forever journey with him. The duo is blessed with two kids, Samisha Shetty Kundra and Viaan Raj Kundra. For the unversed, the actress has a 20-carat engagement ring, which cost the fitness queen’s husband a hefty amount of Rs.3 crores. Interestingly, Raj Kundra had proposed to Shilpa Shetty with a 5-carat ring, but she was not satisfied with it as she expected a bigger one. So, he immediately promised her a bigger wedding ring and gifted her a huge solitaire.
