'Mismatched' Season 4 Is Confirmed, Know The Release Date And What To Expect From The Romantic Show

Mismatched fans have a reason to celebrate! Recently, the OTT platform, Netflix announced the final season of Mismatched, starring Rohit Saraf, Prajakta Koli, Rannvijay Singha and more. For the unversed, the romantic show first premiered in 2020, and since then it has received a lot of love from both critics and audience. Amid the buzz around Season 4, read on to know what to expect from it. 

Mismatched season 4 is announced

On February 3, 2026, Netflix took to its official Instagram handle to announce the upcoming and final season of the much-loved romantic show, Mismatched. Rather than a traditional way of announcing a season, the makers of the show released a teaser video, in which 'Rishi' (Rohit Saraf) and 'Dimple' (Prajakta Koli) revisit their love story, from first meeting in an institute to calling off their wedding. While Netflix did not reveal a release date, multiple reports suggest that the show might premiere around mid-2026.

What to expect from Mismatched season 4?

Mismatched season 4 is expected to begin from where season 3 left. For the unversed, season 3 ended with 'Rishi' and 'Dimple' sitting at Marine Drive, where the latter called off her engagement with the former. Season 4 will most likely feature how the two characters deal with their pain and heartbreak. The upcoming season is also expected to bring the two closer to each other once again. Viewers can expect a mature version of 'Dimple' and 'Rishi'.

Apart from the love story of 'Dimple' and 'Rishi', viewers can also expect to find answers about the relationship of 'Sid sir' and 'Zeenat', 'Anmol' and 'Vinny' and 'Celina' and 'Krish'. Considering the previous seasons, the upcoming one is expected to bring a new setting where all the characters would face each other and their emotions for one last time. However, it cannot be said if there will be a happy ending for all the couples or not.

Recap of first three seasons of Mismatched

To give a recap of the romantic series, Mismatched season 1 introduced the main characters, 'Dimple' and 'Rishi'. 'Dimple', is a focused teenager, who wants to fulfil her dreams, while 'Rishi' believes in traditional ideas of marriage and old-school love. The two first meet in the canteen of a summer tech program, where 'Rishi' calls 'Dimple' his "future wife". This annoys 'Dimple', who throws cold-coffee on him. 

After a rough start, 'Rishi' and 'Dimple' slowly start becoming friends when they are forced to work on a project as a pair. Over time, their friendship blossoms into love. However, towards the end of season 1, they end up having an argument, after which 'Dimple' shares an intimate moment with another guy named 'Harsh'.

Season 2 begins with 'Dimple' going through the guilt of kissing 'Harsh'. However, the makers make it clear that 'Dimple' and 'Rishi' have broken up. Slowly and gradually, 'Dimple' starts liking 'Harsh', who stands by her through all her anxieties and problems. On the other hand, 'Rishi' starts coming close to another girl, 'Sanskriti'. As the season progresses, the two realise that they still love and care for each other. The season ends with them accepting their feelings.

Mismatched season 3 takes a leap of a few years and shows 'Dimple' and 'Rishi' in a long distance. The season opens with 'Rishi' and 'Dimple' studying at rival tech institutes. As the season progresses, the two face multiple challenges in their relationship; however, they still decide to get married. After their engagement, 'Dimple' realises that she is not ready for a relationship and season 3 ends with her calling off her engagement with 'Rishi', who is shocked.
