The couple’s engagement ceremony kicked-off in the morning with a puja, followed by the roka ceremony as per Hindu rituals and lastly, a rocking engagement party in the night which witnessed many biggies from the tinsel town gracing the occasion. After their roka ceremony yesterday, Priyanka thanked her well-wishers on Instagram and wrote, “The only way to do this... with Family and God. Thank you all for your wishes and blessings”. Even Nick took to his Insta handle and sweetly penned down, “Prayer, family and loved ones as the foundation to this new chapter”.
Prior to their engagement, when the last time Nick was in India, not long ago, he had a blast and fun-filled outing with Priyanka, her friends and family. Talking about the same to a media portal, she had said, “It was a great catch up time. It was like a family trip and there were friends with us too. So, it was a friends' and a family trip actually. It was short and sweet. I was there for like 24 hours and I had a great time. It was a great trip”.
After Nick’s concert in Singapore at the start of this month, Priyanka came back to India and in an event in Delhi, she had dodged the questions asked to her about engagement with Nick. She was quoted as saying, “My personal life is not for public consumption. 90% of my life is for public consumption but 10% is for me. I am a girl and I have the right to keep that to myself. My family, friendship, my relationships are things I don't think I need to defend or explain it to anyone. I am not running for the Office, so I don't think I need to give explanations”.
