Vanessa Trump Dated Oscar Winning Actor, Leonardo DiCaprio, She Was Called His Favourite Girlfriend

Vanessa Trump's personal life is once again in the headlines after the former model and socialite revealed that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The 48-year-old has often been in the limelight for her relationship with golfer, Tiger Woods. Before dating Tiger Woods, Vanessa was married to Donald Trump Jr. for 13 years before the couple divorced in 2018.

Before being introduced to Donald Trump Jr., Vanessa had been romantically linked to a few men, including Hollywood heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio. Born Vanessa Haydon to Bonnie Haydon, who ran the Kay Models agency, she began her career as a model. By the late 1990s, Vanessa had begun a modelling career with Wilhelmina Models.

On the other hand, following the success of the film, Titanic, Leonardo DiCaprio was touted to be the next big thing in Hollywood. Leonardo was the biggest heartthrob in the 1990s, and girls drooled over him. Vanessa was one of them. In 1998, Vanessa and Leonardo met at a well-known New York nightclub during the premiere party for James Toback's Two Girls and a Guy, after which they became romantically linked.

In June of 1998, New York Magazine ran a story called Leo, Prince of the City which detailed Leonardo DiCaprio's alleged escapades. It was reported that the two were seen getting close, and an insider even said that Vanessa was Leonardo’s favourite girlfriend. The New York Magazine quoted:

“Leonardo DiCaprio has fallen hard for a stunning young model — and pals say this time it's love. The superstar is so smitten with blonde beauty Vanessa Haydon that he's now a one-woman man.”

As rumours floated around, publicist Cindy Guagenti revealed that the story printed in Star was simply untrue, and she insisted the two had never dated. On the other hand, New York Magazine reported that it was Vanessa who revealed the story about seeing Leonardo. She reportedly described, “how happy Leo was to finally be with someone as 'down to earth' as she." A 1998 article from the Post shared:

“The couple could be seen holding hands, kissing and cuddling into the wee hours in a dimly lit corner."

Vanessa Trump and Donald Trump Jr.'s marriage and divorce

Vanessa and Donald Trump Jr. first met in 2003 after being introduced by Donald Trump himself at a fashion show, as per a New York Times report. After dating for nearly two years, the couple got married on November 13, 2005. During their 13-year marriage, Vanessa and Donald Jr. welcomed five children together: Kai, Donald III, Tristan, Spencer, and Chloe.

In March 2018, Vanessa filed for a divorce from Donald Trump Jr. after 13 years of marriage. At the time, the split was described as an “uncontested” divorce, suggesting the two initially planned to separate amicably. However, reports later claimed that disagreements over finances and custody complicated the proceedings before the divorce was finalised later that year. Despite their divorce, Vanessa Trump and Donald Trump Jr. appear to maintain a cordial co-parenting relationship for the sake of their five children.
