If we talk about modern families of B-town, it would be incomplete without mentioning the Kapoor family. It was in 1979 when Pankaj Kapur had tied the knot with Neliima Azeem and two years later, they had welcomed their first child, Shahid Kapoor. But their marriage hit a rough patch soon and in 1984, Pankaj and Neliima were granted the divorce. Then Neliima found love again in Rajesh Khattar, with whom she had exchanged wedding vows in 1990 and six years after the birth of their son, Ishaan Khatter, the couple got divorced. Neliima then married Raza Ali Khan in 2004, only to part ways with him too, in 2009. Pankaj and Rajesh found their soulmates in Supriya Pathak and Vandana Sajnani respectively, while Neliima is living a happy life with her children, Shahid and Ishaan.

It was in 2008 when Rajesh Khattar had tied the knot with Vandana Sajnani and eleven years later, the couple had welcomed their first child, Yuvaan Vanraj Khattar. The little one was a blessing for his parents as it was after 'three miscarriages, three IUI (Intrauterine Insemination) failures, three IVF (In Vitro Fertilisations) failures and three surrogacy failures' and two-and-a-half months of 'fight for life' by their newborn in the NICU (Newborn Intensive Care Unit), that Rajesh and Vandana embraced parenthood. And since then, Rajesh and Vandana's lives have been revolving around their little bundle of joy.
Before Vandana Sajnani, Rajesh Khattar was married to Neliima Azeem, which was the reason behind why he wasn't ready for marriage again after a divorce. Rajesh was okay with the idea of a live-in relationship with Vandana but not marriage. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Vandana recalled, "I was never single, I never had been married and had no Baby. And here there was a man, who has been through all of that. Bohot kuch sunne mila. In fact, I was the one who was insisting. I don’t think he (Rajesh) ever wanted to marry again. He was very clear that he didn’t want to marry, he had been through that. He said, ‘Yaar live-in karna hai toh kar lo, impossible, I’m not getting into matrimonial.’ But I was stuck."
Speaking about their equation now and if Neliima Azeem and Ishaan Khattar have met her and Rajesh Khattar's son, Yuvaan Vanraj Khattar, Vandana Sajnani continued, "When Yuvaan was born, Ishaan came home, he was very tiny of course, so there was no interaction as such. So, Ishaan was playing with him and all of that, then they had a couple of video calls and stuff. Neelima has come home even after that, she has seen Yuvaan in a little more grown stage. However, then the lockdown happened, Ishaan was off to Goa for some time, and we were also home-bound. But, Ishaan has been very much in touch, all of us actually."

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Neliima Azeem had spoken about her failed second marriage with Rajesh Khattar and how it would have lasted long if there was more control. Elaborating on this, Neliima had stated, "The second marriage would have lasted if certain things didn't happen which were difficult to encounter... It was difficult, it was an impossible feat. I think it would have worked out if there was more control and more logic and sense it in. But it went, it flew out. And it happens in Bombay with all the struggle and with all the pressures, sometimes people succumb to it. But I have the ability to get up and start walking again, and I have these lovely boys in my life, my sons, they were a great inspiration for me and a source of so much happiness and encouragement."
Neliima Azeem shares a cordial bond with her ex-husband, Rajesh Khattar and credits his now-wife, Vandana Sajnani Khattar for the same. She remarked, "I'd like to give Vandana the credit here because Vandana is somebody who has always seeked me and I would say she has taken the initiative to be a friend of mine. And she respects me like as I am an elder in a family. She’s just always respected me and admired me and encouraged me to be there for her. I feel comfortable with Rajesh because of that."
