Fans who have watched the previous seasons of Undekhi might already be aware that evil does not simply retire when it comes to this show. Instead, it finds new ways to rise once again. In Undekhi Season 4, the story continues five years after the events of Season 3. To know what moves ‘Rinku’ (Surya Sharma) and ‘Surinder Singh Atwal’ a.k.a ‘Papaji’ (Harsh Chhaya) will make, and if the final chapter is worth watching, here's our review of Undekhi Season 4.
In this season of Undekhi, ‘Papaji’ is seen behind bars in the beginning. However, even prison had little change on him as he is unable to get through his sentence without a glass of alcohol. Similarly, his habit of cussing has also not diminished. Coming to ‘Rinku,’ he has taken over the empire, which was previously run by ‘Mahinder Atwal' a.k.a ‘Ranjveer Malhotra.' Even the way 'Rinku’ runs it is similar to the cold control he learnt from ‘Mahinder’.

For those wondering where ‘Mahinder’ has gone, he can be seen currently working from the shadows. He is still the same ruthless and unsettling man as before, underscoring that power can thrive even without visibility, as long as there is fear. One of the gut-punch moments comes when viewers realise that ‘Teji’ is dead after being killed in a car crash. Following this, ‘Daman’ decides to raise their daughter, ‘Samaira’, alongside ‘Teji’s’ husband, ‘Vikram Saluja.' While all this information might be a lot to absorb, the show makes no effort to soften it.

The ‘Atwals’ might have built their empire on drugs, but with Season 4, the show introduced something way darker in the form of human trafficking. When minor girls start going missing in Chandigarh, the task of investigating is assigned to ‘Rashi.’ Meanwhile, although he does not want to join the investigation, ‘Rashi’ succeeds in bringing in ‘DSP Barun Ghosh' as he does not know how to say no whenever something truly wrong is being done to vulnerable people. Eventually, with the deepening of the investigation and after he is dragged towards Himachal, ‘Barun’ finds himself face to face with ‘Rinku’ once again.

'Rinku' and ‘Barun’s’ dynamic is essentially one of the most interesting and biggest highlights of the show. Despite understanding each other, the duo always maintain their position on opposite ends of the line; however, because of their shared history, neither can completely escape the other. Now, with the way ‘DSP Barun' acts, he brings a sense of quiet decency to the show, being its moral centre, when all else begins to turn dark.

One thing that Undekhi does across the new season is constantly pile up questions and not answer them easily. For instance, with ‘DSP Barun’ digging deeper into the trafficking case, more and more people around him start turning up dead. This basically makes everyone he approaches a liability. Because of this, the question that arises in our minds is whether the ‘Atwals’ are behind this case, too? Has ‘Rinku’ turned the empire, which was once run by ‘Papaji’, into something darker and more sinister? Also, is ‘Vikram Saliluja' just a decent man raising another man's child, or is he hiding something behind his composed, reasonable face? By keeping things ambiguous, the show will keep you guessing till the end.

Similar to its previous three seasons, Undekhi Season 4 continues its signature gritty realism, which the franchise has been known for since the beginning. The backdrops, with the Manali landscapes, although beautiful, are equally chilling. It complements the quiet dread that is brewing both within the ‘Atwal’ empire and the world beyond it.
Coming to Surya Sharma's acting this season, instead of becoming a one-dimensional thug, he keeps adding new layers to his character, ‘Rinku,’ which keeps the show interesting.
Furthermore, although ‘Rinku’ and ‘Papaji’ were the most menacing characters since Season 1, the new season does introduce a few more characters who seem capable of giving them a run for their money. One of the top contenders for the same is ‘Deepjot’ a.k.a ‘DJ,’ who is always prepared to wield his sword, no matter the reason.

Therefore, for fans who have already watched the previous three seasons, Undekhi Season 4 is a must-watch.
