The business magnate and Chairman & Managing Director of Reliance Industries, Mukesh D. Ambani is a name to reckon with, not only in India but worldwide. A Stanford University dropout, Mukesh is the son of the business tycoon, late Dhirubhai Ambani and Kokilaben Ambani. After the demise of his father, he and his brother, Anil Ambani were locked in a feud over the business, which was later split between them. While Mukesh kept the oil and petrochemical, Anil took over power and telecom businesses. Over years of a strained relationship, Mukesh and Anil proved that family comes first, even for two fierce business rivals.
As per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index list of the world's richest, Mukesh Ambani holds the eighth position with a total net worth of USD 81.9 billion. Following his footsteps are his twins, Akash Ambani and Isha Ambani Piramal, who have created a niche for themselves in the business world, and his youngest son, Anant Ambani, who is striving to make his name too. The year 2020 was a special one for the Ambanis as Akash and his wife, Shloka Mehta embraced parenthood with the arrival of their first child. The family has named the little one, Prithvi Akash Ambani and since his birth, his overjoyed grandparents, Mukesh and Nita Ambani are on cloud nine.
To mark Mukesh Ambani's 64th birthday on April 19, 2021, his sister-in-law, Tina Ambani posted throwback pictures with her jeth on her social media handle. To wish Mukesh on his birthday, Tina posted a note, in which she called him an adoring father and grandfather. To caption throwback pictures with Mukesh, Tina wrote, "Happy birthday to a loving son, brother and brother-in-law, adoring father and grandfather! Wishing you happiness and health always." Last year, on Mukesh's 63rd birthday, Tina had posted a solo picture of him with the note, "Happy birthday to warm, sensitive, caring Mukesh. Wish you every happiness, today and always!"
Back in 2019, when Anil Ambani was given a deadline to pay his dues of around Rs 460 crores to RCom's operational creditor, Ericsson, it was his brother, Mukesh Ambani, who came forward to help him. Mukesh paid Anil's dues from his personal wealth and Anil was touched by this gesture of his brother. In a statement from Reliance Communications, Anil had said, “My sincere and heartfelt thanks to my respected elder brother, Mukesh, and Nita, for standing by me during these trying times, and demonstrating the importance of staying true to our strong family values by extending this timely support. I and my family are grateful we have moved beyond the past, and are deeply grateful and touched with this gesture."
Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani became proud grandparents in December 2020 when Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta welcomed their first child. To announce the name of the little one, the Ambani and Mehta families had released a statement, which could be read as "With the grace of Lord Krishna and the blessings of Dhirubhai Ambani, Kokilaben Ambani is delighted to announce the birth of our precious baby boy! Prithvi Akash Ambani. Delighted Parents Shloka and Akash. Overjoyed Grandparents Nita Dadi & Mukesh Dada, Mona Nani & Russell Nana. Announcing the arrival of junior Ambani, an official statement from the spokesperson of the Ambani family could be read as "With the grace and blessings of Lord Krishna, Shloka and Akash Ambani became proud parents of a baby boy today in Mumbai. Nita and Mukesh Ambani are delighted to become grandparents for the first time, as they welcomed the great grandson of Dhirubhai and Kokilaben Ambani. Both mother and son are doing well.
