But this time, it is all things personal. A while ago, the actress announced her divorce from her actor husband, Adittya Kappadia. Tanvi Thakkar and her husband, Adittya were not sure of getting married
Tanvi and Adittya have been together for more than a decade; however, they tied the knot only five years ago. Before getting married to each other, the pair chose to be in a live-in relationship for nearly six months. However, the reason behind it is shocking! Well, it was in 2022, when Tanvi revealed the reason behind it. However, now that the couple is parting ways, her statement has resurfaced on social media.
In 2022, Tanvi and Adittya completed one year of marriage. At that time, the much-loved actress had a conversation with The Times of India, during which she opened up about living with Adittya for six months before they got married. She explained that the reason behind the same was that they were not sure of each other. They were in a dilemma on whether they should get married or not. In her words:
"We were in a dilemma whether to get married or not. So we decided to stay together for six months and then take a call. It worked for us and we deep dived into it."
Further, she also revealed that their marriage did not change them. Explaining the same, Tanvi Thakkar described her husband, Adittya as ‘mature’, who knows how to handle a ‘control freak’ like her. She said:
"I don't think I have changed much post getting married. I think he was always mature and patient, but when it comes to living with a person like me, a person needs more of it. I am a total control freak."
When Adittya Kappadia revealed that he fell in love with Tanvi Thakkar while playing the role of his brother
In 2021, when Adittya was grabbing attention for his roles in television shows, he sat down for an interview to talk about his wife. During the interview, Adittya mentioned that he and Tanvi fell in love with each other while they were shooting Ek Doosre Se Karte Hai Pyar Hum. It is interesting to note that the two played twins on the show. Recalling their love story, Adittya shared:
"We met on the sets of Ek Doosre Se Karte Hai Pyar Hum and the funniest thing is that we were playing twins in the show! The love story started with being friends. We both got quite fond of each other very quickly cause although we’re both very different people, the outlook on life is pretty similar. We both wanted pretty similar things from life. And that clicked."
Tanvi Thakkar and Adittya Kappadia announce divorce after 12 years of togetherness
On July 4, 2026, Tanvi Thakkar took to her Instagram handle to announce her separation from Adittya Kappadia. She shared a lengthy post, in which she explained that the decision is very emotional for them; however, it is for their good. She also mentioned that there is no negativity between them. The actress concluded her note by requesting privacy. Adittya shared the same post on his IG feed. It is worth noting that Adittya’s IG feed still includes photos and videos from their married life.
